Yeah in a similar situation with unexpected Z expenses! - but still interested in a set as soon as I have the funds?......so will you be getting any more after the current stock is sold out?

I think that these would support 500rwhp effectively and higher.

Z1 quote on there smaller intercoolers to be effective at over 700HP, that's about 600rwhp on an Australian dyno.

Its more about the cost performance equation, what alternatives are there and how much do they cost ?

In side mounts there is only one option larger and also has the advantage of 2.5" piping, that setup will cost you about $2000.

At what point do you spend $2000 versus $400 (ducts extra), that's a tough question, probably when you rebuild budget is over $20,000 and looking for 600rwhp plus and looking to get in the 10's.

But then a FMIC might present a better cost performance answer, depends on a number of factors.

Small quantities of Intercoolers and ducts are available separately.

does anyone have any more photos of the ducts sitting in place.

im just wondering with the shape and gaps in the ducts (shape etc) is there air lost ??? or is it sealed up? theres big area at the top that are not closed up ?

if this is the case wouldnt it be better to have the duct specifically only come in from the bottom duct in the bar then open up and seal completly to the core ?

im seriosly considering gettin this kit just want to check these things out first...

I understand what you are saying, I think that capturing the largest cross section of air and restricting its flow around the intercooler results in the largest volume flowing through it.

When air meets the core, with out a duct more would flow around it, the duct simply increase the restriction to air flowing around the intercooler, which in turn increases the pressure on the core face causing more air to go through it.

so its not fully sealed up right ?

just to point out again what im saying is have the duct start from the bottom vent of the bar, then open up and completly seal the whole core face... so i dont see how what u said would have more cross section of air more than what i have in mind ???

I thought you meant 1 of the 3 lower vents on the stock bar.

I think its a good idea, and something that I have considered previously, using something like a spandex sock, maybe you should go cut up some of your leotards and try it out. :p

Have you read the installation manual for these ducts ?

Install of the intercoolers turned out to be a PITA. I have the stock TT front bar and being a 2+2 has the washer bottle on RHS and carbon canister and coolant overflow on LHS. I have bent the piping to the carbon canister back above and flush with the front of the canister and the intercooler is only 5mm in front of the canister. Everything looked fine till I put the front bar back on and found the indicators dont fit in, with the blinker globe housing fouling on the intercoolers. At this stage it looks like I will need to modify the indicator housing so the the globes enter the housing from the inner side and not the rear. I am still running the stock fog lights and do not want to replace these with front indicators.

Thanks for the info, if you could take pictures to assist other members in the future, that would great.

I don't think I have seen these fitted with fog lights before, appreciate the help.

Talk to Eric Dino, he has fitted a few sets and I'm sure he knows the best way of making the inficators fit :)

Other types of bar may not be a problem, I'll get a few pics for you during the week. For anyone using a stock bar on a 2+2 I don't think your duct kit will work and it will need to be a custom job.

They are designed for 2K front bar, and have been successfully fitted to stock bars as well, with a little trimming, as detailed here, pretty simple stuff.

As its the bar and lights that changes not the rest of the car I cant see it being a difficult thing on most front bars, an excellent starting point that makes the job far easier.
