even if it the overall number is down a bit then thats not too bad. I think the comparative results between 12 zeds running back to back are more usefull.

Ashley's result of 300 on just 11psi is outstanding. and troy's car made 320 i think? that was one of the other ones that stood out for me . For me the Jury is still out on the hypergear turbo's but maybe its that they need to run at higher boost levels to work best.

Id like you to have a look at my chart when it is posted up Erik, it does something weird up top. Could be as simple as the AVCR not being setup prperly.

After the buzz today i think in the next few weeks i might get mine back on the dyno and set up the AVCR to the max boost i want and possibly tune out the weird lump at the top

I agree niall, the best thing about a dyno is you can see potential issues and do back to back testing to confirm results from different things. No sense getting upset over dyno numbers if they are a little low.

If anyone is not happy with thier results, run it at qr or willowbank to see waht it actually does in real driving situations, you may be ecstatic after that.

Just bolt on mods, npower dumps highflow cats, nistune, ported out exhaust manifolds and a boost controller.

    :p
I've got turbo back exhuast with the ebay dumps, uas center muff and zetti rear mufflers, Pod filter, japtek SMIC's which I've ducted as best I can for a stock TT front bar. I'm running niall's old chip before he got his 555's, I think niall said he made 335hp on it or something? but I'm assuming that was with a SAFC aswell, which I don't have yet.

I'm hoping once I get an SAFC and fuel pressure reg (trying to get the most out of the stock injectors) and install my EBC I will see better numbers. A new clutch is on the very near horizon too because the guy said it was slipping.

My intake system still doesnt hold pressure when I try to do a boost leak test either, I've tryed and tryed to fix it but havnt had any luck yet, even taken it to a workshop with a smoke machine and they couldnt find anything, so hopefully next weekend niall & I are guna have another crack at it.

So Don't write the old hypergear turbos off yet!! :p

i didt have an SAFC when i ran that old chip. we'll ge tthose boost leaks sorted mate, id like to check mine out too.

i still think there is something up since yours made 291 at around 95% duty cycle, but i suppose if the dyno is reading 5% low or something then that would be pretty much the same as my original 310hp run

I though I might say some thing. None of those 3x cars who dyno run was perfect. People's got leaks, breaking downs, miss firing, using stock or unturned Engine management. So unless you are running a tuners map on a flawless functional engine system There is no way you can get proper power out put.

Ok my clutch was definatly on its last legs, it packed it in tonight! Lucky it held up for the dyno runs this morning at least! It will be interesting to know how much it was acctually slipping once i get a new clutch in. :)

Brad once the engine system is running flawlessly you need to get a programmable ECU and dyno tune it. Bigger turbos will allow you to increase more timing with same boost levels without pinning. You will need more then just stock timing to get more power. or all it does is giving you better torque due to greater exhaust flow.

Also most clutches requires 300KM run-in. You might want to read up its manual and see what it ask you to do.

Some of what you are saying is true adn i understand you have to back up your product. I do not intend for this thread to turn into a bagging session but at the level brad is at he does not need a programmable ECU, is AFR was spot on and steady, its running an extra 2 degrees of timing on the CAS and after driving it i dont feel it is full of boost leaks.

The chip brad is using is my old chip and my stock zed did 310rwhp with just boost jets and a cat back, i then went on to do 335rwhp on the same chip at 16psi.

We'll get the boost leak issue sorted after the clutch and ill organise another day since this one was quite succsesfull. Brad should have his issues sorted then and ill be running more boost too

Yay... by the time I got back from switching cars the place was closed... mostly because SOMEONE decided to die on the Gateway southbound and stuffed it all up so it took an hour to get home :p Not happy Jan~!

I went through the city on the way home and that was just as bad, must of stopped at every single set of lights from the northside to the southside!

    My results:

My zed managed 313.9HP with stock turbos and the following mods:

Pod, larger SMIC's, UDP, split dumps, hi-flow cats, 2.5 inch exhaust,
AVCR set to 14psi and a Blitz ECU.

Had major problems with the aggressive timing of the chip causing some pinging, especially in the mid range. This is probably also due to some old fuel in the tank. The zed doesn't get driven much so it was a mixture of fuel more than 6 months old and some I bought about 2 weeks ago. I should have realised it might cause a problem and put some octane booster in.

Still happy with the 80HP increase from the last dyno when I bought the car 7 years ago:D

Thanks again Niall for organising the dyno runs.

    Off the bottom at last

Thanks to Niall for organising this one - my new (2nd hand) motor was good, but pity my clutch started slipping on Thursday night - seemed OK on the dyno, best run of 282hp - much better than the 218hp I got last time...(yes it was TT then too...)

Mods - 14psi on boost jets, stock turbos/dumps, 2.5" exhaust, pod, FMIC, chip.

Bit lower than I expected, but at least I know its safe, as hitting 100% duty cycle on datascan, but mixtures at 10.5:1 at the top end

Will post up my sheet tomorrow

ouch what is happening to your air fuels

leaning out to 13.5 to 1 at the top end. do you have a crazy jap tune?

Id say its a fuel delivery issue

what was getting at was, adding more fuel to the mix will result in less power, but safer.
