Just got back from our mini dyno day in sandgate. Interesting results, good to see 10 zeds run back to back.

We'll try to get a complete list of figures. but ill start by saying that mine did 368rwhp so quite happy with that.

Pics and other results coming soon. Now im off to bed.....

Nice number mate. At what boost was that achieved? Was there any tuning, or just power runs?

15psi or there abouts. just 3 power runs, no tuning, but a bit of diagnostic stuff by glen, trying to help out some guys with weird problems

Great day niall, Thanks for organising.

I made 291HP (13psi), which I'm pretty happy with as I've still got issues to sort out + the clutch was slipping.

I've got a question on the torque reading though, I made about "1175 LB". I Cant seem to find out how to convert that to NM?

yeah apparantly its a bit of an equation to convert it, the figure you have is for tractive effort i think or tractive force or something

It was a good day, thanks everyone for coming and paying in advance.

Yeah Tractive effort mate, If anyone knows the formula please post it up :p

    is this right?

    1 175 pound foot = 1 593.086 093 6 newton meter

    i used... http://www.onlineconversion.com/torque.htm

Mine did 300HP on low boost (11psi) :) Was quite happy with that result..... Unfortunately I couldn't run it on high boost 16psi as it was running to lean and didn't wanna risk breaking anything... would hav been good to see the results tho!!

Thanks heaps to Niall for organising the day!!!

I got 290HP on 13psi, but was having massive lean issues as well

290 seemed to be the most common number of the day

running lean will actually produce higher hp numbers than running rich.. get the afr sorted and then crank the boost and you should be able to see 300-310rwhp

i mean really lean like heading towards 14:1, I just had a play with my wideband and it seems that one bank of cyclinders is running nice with a 12:1 ratio and the other bank is way to lean. I'm thinking maybe my injector connectors have high resistance joints they are pretty had it, ones actually held on by silicone

Well I'm not going to lie. I'm disappointed with my result 291hp. My mods plus the money spent I should be alot higher. But my car got worse on the way home. Missing hard :(

how much boost were you running? You have hypergear turbo's dont you?? or am I mixing you up with someone else...

Running lean will not increase hp. The energy in the fuel is what gives hp, lack of fuel or too much will both give lower numbers. Running lean will create a more responsive engine but only under very light or no load situations.

Dont put too much weight on the dyno figures guys, I would expect most of the cars ran to be over 216rwkw or 290hp. Even niall's numbers are a little low. The more important outcome of the day is you all got to see how the engine was running and a couple people found issues before they became major.

Sevenangrypenguins, you are running stock engine all round aren't you? Brad22, yours has hypergear atr25"s i believe. Do either of you have other mods, exhausts etc? Akeizm, sevenangry penguins and brad22 all made the same hp with very similar or the same boost, all 3 engines are fresh, only thing is akeizm and brad22 have hypergear turbos. I think there are the results that hypergear wont put up.

Sorry niall, not trying to hijack, this is what we've been waiting for with these turbos.

yeah your right, hypergear turbo's at 13psi

you're right there erik, leaning out a super rich mixture will give more power which might be what youre thing of mafi. but thats just a less rich condition, not lean as such

I thought that numbers seemed a touch low, but almost 275rwkw from mine on around 15psi doesnt seem low to me, but if it is then thats fine with me, More to wring out of it then ;)

Did you happen to see the duty of your 555's when it was on the dyno niall? that will give us a good indication if the numbers are right or not.

not exactly mate, between 79 and 81 i think

80% duty on 555's should give around 420ish hp, give or take 10hp. With your port work, 15psi is probably equivilent to 18psi unported. The figures seem to indicate the dyno is down about 10-15%.
