    lol

Just got back from work. Hit 10psi by 3,000rpm, and hit 15.9psi by 4,000rpm. Had some fun checking that out :D

Nice one mate, 173kw seems low for a healthy tt -sounds like the clean took care of a few problems! Do you have separate dyno sheets for the two runs?

UAS advertise carbon cleaning in the service section of their website.

Only the one I posted with them overlaid, why, what else would be worth comparing between the two?

Just got back from getting the carbon clean on my Z. Very happy with it. Only gained a couple of kw back, but oh the smoothness :D so silky, feels like a new car now, where as before I took it in it was getting progressively rougher. Again very happy, highly reccomend for all.

    Thanks Tom.

Just interested to see if there was much variation between temps the two runs.

Actually there was a 0.7deg rise in temp between the two runs. Not enough to cause any different reading in power... The humidity and barometric readings were the same too (according to our little weather station).

Glad to hear Marco, you had a decent gain in torque (approx 15nm) which is always good to have. :)

There are still a few spots left for the $199 special if anyone else is interested. Details are in the business section.

Maybe your engine is cleaner than mine. How's your AFR? I'm running really rich due to the Mines ECU in the car. I've had a look at the AFR map and it's much richer than stock.

Second, what's the bet you all have gummed up injectors and that's the reason for these results. You guys will spend money on anything, just take the injectors out and service them properly.

Serious question here, would my car run rich at both high and low idle if the injectors were gummed up? I thought it'd be more likely to run lean?

And is there a difference between this soft of clean of forcing cleaning solution through them and an ultrasonic clean (a noticeable difference)?

I dont know your setup but it's possible, a simple boost leak could cause it especially if you say the boost isn't consistant right now.

And you have a fuel leak? Well that's practically setting fire to $200 right there in that case, when you could easily get every single injector serviced properly for less than that ($30 each) and have fixed your leaks AND cleaned your injectors at the same time. Or am I crazy? :p

If they flow they flow, simple as that really.

Nah, my boost was OK. I think ugame had the boost problems?

Well, that's $180 for the injector clean, and the extra $20 here gets you the chambers/valves etc. cleaned too, so surely that's the better option? And does your $30 each include the labour getting them out, cause even if you do it yourself it's work you could avoid by going the carbon clean method yeah?

And I don't get what you mean about the fuel leak = throwing away $200?

It's a good service for those who do not wish to spend the $800 odd dollars in labour to remove the plenum, get the injectors ultrasonically cleaned, new o-rings, etc, etc.

A cheaper, effective alternative is good for a lot of Z owners. Plus the added benifit of cleaning the fuel rails and carbon deposits at the same time. :)

Well you're probably going to have to rip into it anyway to fix that leak, in which case you could of just pulled the rail and got them serviced properly to begin with. That's what I meant anyway, I dont know the extent of the leak but the plenum may have to come off anyway.
And no I'm not counting labour obviously, but this is a band aid fix for an old, worn out fuel system for 99% of people.

Band aid fix? We're talking two different services here. You're talking about ultrasonically cleaning the fuel injectors and I'm talking about cleaning carbon deposits off the valves, pistons, etc. It's just an added bonus that the injectors are cleaned at the same time.

Anyway, let's just agree to disagree. :)

Dont get me wrong I'm not talking shit on the process, I'm just saying I bet these performance results are from cleaner injectors more than anything else. Combined with known fuel leaks in this particular case, it didn't save any time/money at all if the plenum has to come off in the end anyway to fix them.

That's why I agreed with MAX's post, the true test would be a completely overhauled fuel system and THEN the carbon clean done for true accurate results of the benefits. No?

No, lets all agree that 300zxt either likes to stir shit often, of is just a knob.

Somehow this old, worn out fuel system works fine for my 244rwkw on a mostly standard setup.
