Yea that pin was a bit loose and would slip out so I put some glue in there to stop it from coming out.

Guess its time to get a hold of another PTU.

Have you tried bypassing the ECU

by bridging the ign relay terminals (as per a previous post of mine?) just to check it's not the ign circuit in the ECU???

PS: I have a spare ECU you can try. Would be happy to lend you my new S2 PTU also (on the proviso that if your current wiring fries mine also that you'd replace it for me :))...

It's alright Mark. I've got another unit on the way. So if I fry it, it's mine that I fry heh.

The ignition relay terminal. Does that supply 12v+ to the coil packs?

    Ign relay

Yes, it provides the 12V+ to the ignition circuit when ign key set to ignition.

Reason I asked is it is a long shot but your ECU could be faulty especially as it has been removed and socketed.

I have had this happen to me once right after I bought my zed - I checked every square inch/component of the ign system and was able to start up by bridging the ign relay terminals which provides 12V supply direct to the ign circuit bypassing the normal source thru the ECU which had fried.

Let me know if you want the ECU to test.

Tried the other PTU I got and no start still.

When I switch the ignition on I get 12v+ to each coil pack. And they all have a decent ground. But if that's all that bridging that relay does then yes I'm getting power to each coil pack.

I tried my 370cc chip in the ecu which I know worked as I had been running on it for a few weeks before I did my plenum pull. The car didn't start either so I know its not my ECU chips.

Going on over 1 month now shes been sitting there.

Can I get someone to come help me out? I know electrics but the 300 is an enigma lol

I should be able to come over mid afternoon if you like. I'll get the details of how I did my wireup job on mine.

PM me your address if you want me to come.

I've got one here if you need to borrow it

It has faults but the ignition and fuel circuits are 100% and as a test mule to isolate/eliminate ECU as a contributing factor it will do the job.

Well Chrispy came around and helped me today. My wiring is right and I have spark. But it seems like my fuel pressure regulator is cactus. I'm getting about 18psi @ idle and when I pull the regulator out I can blow right through it with my mouth, no resistance.

So time to get a new regulator. So my misfire problem could have been my fuel pressure all along.

Ohh and I forgot to ad. That I can sometimes start the car and when she does it only runs for a bit then stumbles to a stall. As soon as the car shuts off you see the gauge go straight back to 0 psi to the rail loses all pressure right away.

Well I was stupid. I had the fuel lines back to front. The supply was feeding into the back of the fuel pressure regulator lol.

But after all that work....the car has the same idle/misfire. I give up, its beaten me, its going to stay with the idle/misfire now.

    Long shot but

are the EGR pipe to plenum bolts tight and the gasket in place? When putting everything back on after a plenum pull, it's easy to mistakenly pick up the longer 10MM bolts to secure the EGR pipe into plenum. When tightened into the plenum, they will bottom out early resulting in an invisible gap between the pipe bracket and plenum.

Marc's gooped it up with lots of RTV, I would be suprised if there was a leak there.

Yea thats one of the places I didn't trust with those little o-ring seals.

But I'm sitting in the car atm as I was going to take it to work but nooooooo shes flooding a cylinder (no 3 or 4, don't know which way the runners go) cause there is smoke pooring out the exhaust, and when i pull that plug off the coil pack it makes no difference to its lumpyness.

The annoying thing is when I started the car last night it wasn't doing this, now when I go to use it I get another problem! argh!

Bets on the injector being stuck open? I can hear it clicking when I put a screw driver on it.

Not a good bet :) If its clicking its working

Was it near that one that sounded funny?

The runners on the left feed the right bank and vice versa. Your running iridiums too aren't you? Not sure if they clean up well after flooding either.

I checked it too, it has 11ohms resistance.

Reason I say its an injector as a few weeks ago when I was at fleets I pinched an injector wire on another cylinder and she acted exactly the same as it is now.

Yea chris is was near the one that sounded funny. And i am running iridiums.

Time to whip out that coil pack and see if it sparks.

Edit: Yep that cylinder is sparking....
