Just took these on the camera phone All my mods are in my profile... Just snapped these after a quick hit with the old wash 'n wax. Image quality's a bit sus but this thread seemed a great excuse to post some shots on the forum
And my stocker - 1991 Australian Model NA 2+2 143000 kms young, 3 owners, full history. Only mods: PTU relocated and stainless steel lower Radiator pipe. Have now gone from Simmons F90's back to stock wheels.

I suppose I could take that 2 ways I prepared a very long answer to this post Jono, but it stuffed up when I clicked 'post'. Let me just say that the std wheels are good enough for me - so that's the way it'll stay. Secondly, I have no illusions about myself. I was grateful but uncomfortable in being accepted on your first cruise despite my "difference" to the rest of you, but I don't want to be seen as a pathetic old man trying to be young again through a sports car, let alone a pathetic old man in a sports car with 18" sports wheels etc etc. trying to look like a boy racer while being happy to drive somewhere around the speed limit most of the time. Because I have no illusions about myself, I will eliminate any further "play value" by dropping out of involvement in any future club events, and I'll just go back to enjoying my Zed solo, or with my wife, on our great country roads.
Don't be like that, John There's plenty of us "old" guys on this forum, many with non-standard cars... after-market body kits, wheels, performance mods... just like the young blokes. Personally I just enjoy the car for what it is, with no pretention to being any the younger for it. My only regret is that I had to wait so long to be able to buy a car I really wanted for myself, rather than having to keep providing the family with multiplace transport. Stuff what anyone else thinks, just get out there and enjoy the car along with the rest of us!

Thanks for your observations... I will do just as you say. I view the Z32 as one of several Japanese cars which deserve the title "classic" and while I respect the many and varied wheel/bodykit efforts around, most of which enhance and modernize the appearance of the car, I still reckon it was pretty close to perfect straight off the showroom floor, and even now stands the test of time amazingly well. I certainly wasn't having shot at anybody, old or young in my post, just observing that this 54 y.o. fat balding greybeard doesn't fit well with the local active members, all of whom are in their low-mid twenties, I would imagine, and I will therefore not try to fit in and look pathetic in doing so. It's not that I was made to feel uncomfortable by the members, they were very friendly and made me feel like part of a group of Z enthusiasts. A nicer bunch of people you wouldn't meet anywhere, and their cars are superb too. It's just that I felt selfconscious and I don't much like that feeling... X-RATED may have meant his post quite literally, but because of the way I feel I interpreted it as possibly tongue-in-cheek, even though that would have surprised me, unless I'm very much poorer at 'reading' people than I think I am.
i know at first when i went on my first cruise and there was alot of old timers i felt a bit wierd as it wasnt usually the case on car cruises, but after a while you tend to not care about the age difference as you realize you all have something in common.. 300zx.. all of our 300zx's share something in common, and thats their age.. so why should yours matter? just an opinion of some 18 y.o
The age difference of owners is one of the great things about this forum It's really easy for young guys to talk & meet other young owners - whether it be hanging out, cruising around town, nightclubs etc. But as I head into the middle age bracket, I really appreciate the knowledge & advice the "older" members from here have to offer. And not just that - you'll find that apart from their love of the zed they are really great people as well! I know that is the case here in Vic, and I'm confident all the states are exactly the same. Don't feel self conscious Tazzie - the others don't mind - why should you? Get out there amongst it!

John, NO tongue-in-cheek intended! I was simply making a comment about rims :wacko: As you have probably noticed, my personal taste is, the bigger the rims the better I'm sorry to hear that you felt that way at our last meet. Personally, for me age is not a factor at all. It's just a group of enthusiasts getting together and enjoying something we all have in common, the Z32. If you didn't enjoy the experience of our last meet, then I totally understand & I will let it go. But it would be great if you could make it to another, & screw what the public think. Jono
