Hi all Fleet and I will shortly be discussing the future of our sister site www.oz300zx.com Since it does have pretty much the same member-base, and is hardly posted in these days, it may not be worth continuing with. Please post up your input if you have any, and Peter and I will take that on board. The board is temporarily disabled until we reach a decision.
STS is using that site now, if you close it down members here might find it difficult to keep up to date with the G/B he started here, I think you should keep it open, for now!
I only ever check oz300 if Aus300 is down... Not exactly what the site was designed for, but the place is a ghost town.
no point having 2 identical sites run by the same people when 1 clearly is lacking compared to the other.. when this sites down don't jump over there... GO OUTSIDE AND GET SOME DAMN SUNLIGHT! lol
I was on There today, seen where STS was going to do his group buys there. I for one will be sorry to see it go, but then i don't have to maintain it. When it was formed it was a great asset, now days just a shadow of it former self Make sure if it shuts we transport the lap record page, along with the drag list and the dyno list across so we don't lose that history.
Sorry to say - i didnt even know it existed......sorry :bow2: I've only known about this one coz this seemed to be the only one talked about.... does that make sense?? lol
oz300zx had some very good elements to it, but its largely overshadowed by this site. For oz300zx to work, it needs to change focus to something that this site doesn't incorporate, or improve upon. For example, part of the tech section seems to relate to oz300zx. Why not move the entire tech section there and include more information. Make it the ultimate world-wide resource for technical information on Zeds, with a FAR better layout than the current tech section? The other thing, as a relatively new Zed owner, is recommendations for places to go for different things. I did really like that about oz300zx. Links to as many parts / services places as possible and reviews or recommendations would make me very happy.. So ditch oz300zx? No. In its current format? Yes. No sense reinventing the wheel. Besides, with the technical expertise of the people behind that site - it could be really really successful.
imo , i think it would be verry good idea to make one forum out of 2. is there some way of doing this , ( you p.c gurus ) Ive all ways been thinking that , i never really get on it . but yeah only when this is down .........
Wasn't it made because some people got pissed off with this forum? Guess most people got over there problems or offed themselves No point keeping it around IMO.
I've only ever been to that site 3-4 times and found it to be pointless, no reaosn to go there with aus300 a click away. I don't mean anything personal by it, thats just my experience
Theres nothing on oz300zx.com that isnt already here. I personally find it frustrating that potential members have to play hit and miss with regards to which site they find. The lap time, 1/4 mile and dyno lists can easily be maintained here by Fleet if hes still willing As far as the forum content goes it can be merged with this one without too much fuss (as far as im aware) Regarding the group buys that STS is running, it is a point of contention that STS does not have its own infrastructure to handle the Group Buys. His business should be run independent of other forums. Maybe somebody should suggest to him that he setup his own Group Buy dedicated forum ?
Is he banned from this forum or not? If not, then maybe he should come back. Its always good to have more places to by parts from. Any members here know sts owner personnaly? if so, get him back here then just delete the old forum.
I would like to think that the content can be archived, as there is a fair bit of pertinent information and history on there, apart from the obvious timed 1/4, lap and power charts.
Yes me too which is why Id like to hope we could combine the two to avoid confusion. As for Aus being down, well it shouldnt ever be down** **Comment subject to the gods of the internet
Yep, that's what i heard aswell chrispy. If my memory serves right, someone on this forum made a post here about some other aus300zx.com member bagging it out saying there's a better forum to join now. etc etc... I've killed a LOT of brain cells since this topic many many years ago now, but i thought that's what i read way back then.... AHH HA!! FOUND THE LINK HERE! (looks like i haven't killed as many brain cells as i thought ) .... oh, btw i kinda like having a 'backup' forum around where i can still bump into people i recognise. IMO, keep it going.
