Thats a shame but totally expected. I am not too sure what sort of off street facilities you guys have down there (i.e drags and circuit) we are quite lucky up here in Sydney with Eastern Creek and drags and also Oran Park.

I hear people complaining all the time about the costs of the drags and some track events at around $180 but its a small price to pay to race safely and legally and no risk of impounding.

This is not supposed to be a dig post so dont take it the wrong way and I hope your situation works out the best possible way it can.

its tragic that your zed is impounded. But I cant sympathize with guys that flaunt their cars on the streets, and drag race like morons. I totally support the hoon laws and wish they were even tougher.

At this stage things will just COST you money and you like every other 'normal' person you will pay, really thats all that its about....... money !
The police / Govt / Courts / Lawyers know you'll pay so they just put a figure on your 'crime' and wait for the money, the 2nd offence means that you'll pay even more money than you did on the first occasion, on ya 3rd strike they'll still fine you etc & .........
They get ya car too ! ( which they sell for ........ money ! )

After that the 'law' figures no-one is stupid enough to continue down this path...... & if they are then jail is a good option...... and they still take money & the car you have !!


So the only real question is.........

How much is this going to COST ??????????

Join a drag racing club, this shows that you realise that there IS a place fo this type of behaviour and that you understand what you have done is illegal & that you ARE changing your ways...... & most importantly.......

When you 'appear' go with the right attitude, I've found its best to put ya hands up and say
'yeah ya got me good.... guilty as sin",
the courts dont like liers so the smallest little white lie or the slightest suggestion that the coppers stuffed up or the weather was shyte or whatever other "pathetic excuse" you may dream up will come back n bite you.
Lets face it, you dont like being lied to so what makes you think a magistrate is any differant ?..... & they look at guilty people EVERY DAY so they can pick up on a lier pretty quickly

Coppers, lawyers, and court officals work together on a daily basis, they are all 'co-workers' so dont for an instant think that they will take the word of some unknown & complete stranger as the gospel truth ..... would you belive a complete stranger ?

Lawyers cost money...... Courts have their own 'language', so if your not the brightest kid on the block or your not a good public speaker, get a 'mouth piece' to do the talking for you....... AND TELL HIM THE TRUTH before he goes into bat for you !
Lawyers dont care if your innocent or guilty, they just want ya money, but they will up ya bill if they are made out as stupid in court because you told em a fib or didnt tell em everything.

I stopped using lawyers and have on the last 3 occasions spoken for myself, if you intend to do this then go & watch half a dozen odd cases that are similar to yours, you'll soon get the gist of whats going on and it will better prepare you for your 'big day out'.....
Defending yourself will save you some money, more than likely the fine your going to pay will have already been set as you are about to start your case ( watch the magistrate doing heaps of writing as you listen to the police officers opening ....... he's filling in YOUR fines etc ...... yeah they KNOW your GUILTY !!! )

but i wont.. Drag racing is one thing, but doing it in the wet when there more chance of losing control of your vehicle is just plain stupid..

Get wiser and find really remote places to enjoy a bit of speed on your own where the likelyhood of endangering anybody other than yourself is least. Dont race, unless on a track of course, drive the selected piece of road slower and get a good look at whats about, in daylight ! if you can find a bit of road with no turn off's, driveways and really clear views ahead so you can see if there is anybody coming your way ahead, you can slow to the limit.
Using the Z as a dick extension to prove something to others like doing burnouts, dragging and hooning (which lets face it you could use any old shitbox for that, why thrash a really good sports car) and will inevitably result in getting done by the law severely.
I hope you get your Z back, I know what love is... just remember you dont have to prove a thing to anyone, beating someone in your car means nothing.
