    Egg ....

Last time I drove it I thought to myself geeez I better replace them all it's getting to a stage that even just putting around it was becoming bad.

No good to a joy-rider at all. Ten times worse then a dodgy coilpack.

We'll see it's just a theory, cop said it looks fine and can only see door and ignition damage... he did say they are nearly always thrashed.
And well, found a kilometre from where I live. :br: I think a parking inspector reported it, didn't quite hear him on the phone I was so excited. :zlove:

  2. BigCol

    BigCol That's what she said...

We've all got our fingers crossed that she's only got a bit of cosmetic damage.

    Great news :)

Great to hear this, especially after the gutted feeling you had, I think we all had that gutted feeling vicariously. Hope it's just the door and ignition that are the only things damaged. Good luck and thanks for the update!

Great news that it's been found, Paul(at least it wasn't a smoldering slag-heap like AndyMac had to contend with).
You have to be thankful for small mercies.

    Good Luck Mate.

If the Z is as described, it will be nothing that a new titanium key and lock set won't fix

And to look on the bright side, you've scored a new car battery ;)

  9. Benny_C

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

Glad you're car was found, with minimal damage! As said before, it could have been a LOT worse. I bet you have a very releaved feeling now. :)

Time for a new Ignition Barrel unit from COZ! :)

    Alarm or immobilser??

So no alarm or immobiliser  . Might be worth adding some form of theft prevention to deture people from stealing your car in the future?

glad to read the great outcome..

    I shuddered when I read you weren't insured ..

Its wierd they left better cars (just as 'conspicuous' - as described in your other thread) and went to some trouble to take, but only to leave it 'round the corner'?

ZID (via forum) immobiliser or Tissonics is only a fraction of the cost of an insurance policy .. Torque Insurance woudn't insure my Z without one? of course more necessary if no insurance .. but if an insurance co demands installation then you would expect it is for a reason (harder to steal ) but nothing is impossible to steal ,, just watch hollywood movies
You have lucky stars - take a walk under them.

    LOL :)

    Alarm/immoboliser a good idea - conveniently, there's some for sale from Rob260: http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=308459

or at least get a ZID from Mark (zed4life)

EDIT: A tit key would stop stinky, toothless bogans from taking your Z for a joy ride, because it can only be opened by a girl with erect nipples. ;)

  15. Egg

    Egg ....

Heheh, but the guy who had his battery stolen out of his car might want it back. :)
Yeah they lifted another residents bonnet and took his battery.

    Egg ....

Looks like I will need a full set of locks, just going to check it out now will know later.

Bit pissed on nearly $300 towing fee for ten kilometre tow.

Think I got off light anyways but that fee is triple what it should be I feel.

Yeah, it is. By Newcastle standards, at least. Does that include holding yard fees at the police station, or transport back to your place of residence / a mechanics?

  18. Egg

    Egg ....

Holding fee applies if I don't pick it up by Monday.

That's just the towing fee for a ten kilometre tow to the yard.

Well, sounds like you just have to bend over and take it. The towing fee adds insult to injury, but all in all, there is still a net gain in the whole incident - The car is safe, and it was found relatively intact. It's a good outcome. :zlove:

    Well done on getting it

Well done on getting it back mate, that's pretty rare!
Your Zed was sending it's telepathic Zedness Spiritualistic vibes back to it's home because it knew it had evil humans at it's controls and not it's rightful pilot!! lol (did I just say that out loud??)
    Hmmm Guinness pls!!
