Just got off the phone with the Police.

Hope its all good. A screw driver? I thought it would be a lil harder than that.

  5. Egg

    Egg ....

    Yeah fingers crossed it's...

    ...not too bad.

Looks like they were obviously joy-riders.

I have a theory that it was dumped nearly immediately... I've been such a lazy sod that I haven't swapped out my injector connectors... car runs beautiful but as soon as it's floored in runs like garbage.

I reckon it might have been dumped within 10 minutes.

Found in Scarborough St.... just around the corner.

Hope I'm not tempting fate, will know more soon. :zlove:

sorry to hear it stolen but at least you get it back with minor damage, as long as they weren't planting it on the limiter or anything i doubt they damaged it too much. but they found it pretty quick good to hear you found it and getting it back

    Egg ....

    Hope so.

Thought it was best to let the cops tow it away and finger-print like they want to.

Cop on the phone said 4 in 5 joy-riders burn them out.

If that's all the damage, that would be excellent Paul! Hope to see some pics up soon showing only minor damage that can be easily repaired.

wow not too good odds, well at least you found it fast before anything bad happened to it, do they have any idea who did it or was it just a little street punk?

What right infront of Aus Fair? thats a busy area. Not exactly a joy riding location with speed bumps every 50m.

  13. Egg

    Egg ....

    Well...

    ...if I was a joy-rider I woulda dumped it straight away. :D
Not even worth stealing some petrol.

Drive it sedately beautiful no problems, floor it and it runs REALLY bad.

Just been lazy and hardly drive it... and being an old man that never speeds or anything. :zlove:

    I'm hoping anyway.

That's good news that it has been found in one piece instead of a smouldering pile

    All the best man :)

sounds like lazyness paid off in your case.

  16. Egg

    Egg ....

    I was...

...meaning to do them for ages.
I know it's the connectors 100% I can give them all a wriggle and it runs fine for a while.
It's funny, but one of the first thoughts I had when it went was if it's joy-riders they will be disappointed. :D
Yes, feel my laziness may have saved me... I woulda dumped it for sure, no point stealing fuel and thrashing a car when you can't drive it hard and escape if the Police want to chase you.
No point burning it too if you've just driven around the block, literally found around the corner. :)
Just wipe your prints off... they usually steal and thrash them and dump them after a couple of tanks of fuel. ie prints everywhere.

Good to hear you found her Paul, hopefully the damage is minimal (fingers crossed).

Being an old car the ignition barrel key lugs will all be worn, basically allowing you to ram anything similar in profile to a key into it and work, maybe after a bit of jiggling if not straight off. And before anyone flames me for revealing secrets on how to steal the Z32, it's pretty commonly known and has been demonstrated on TV by shows like ACA running a story on car theft or even on Top Gear just the other night.

    Cheers,

    Craig

Mine used to do that, throw a coil pack connector off if you gave it some, not much fun to drive then, hopefully that's what happened and they bailed, if so your the luckiest bastard alive !

Still got my fingers crossed. :zlove:

Happy to hear she isnt a smoldering pile. :)

As for joy riders, suddenly I'm very tempted to have a hidden switch that gives the ECU an error 34... or use some other means to make the car almost undrivable in a certain state. Would piss off any hoons to no end. :p

    Congrats on the good news.
