Normally I would post a comment about your girly V8, but at this point in time I shall shut up because yours appears to be running Although it seems to still have the strap attached to lift it back out, not expecting it to last too long? Ps well done.
About time... i can sit a little further into the chair now. Not that i was hanging off the end of it waiting for a start up...cough... Well done to date Chrispy. Obviously still a long while yet before its all "legal" but none the less a freaking great job. Next time up in brissy visiting my parents ill have to swing by and sus this out. Play shotgun maybe.
Here are some piccies. I've got a Flickr account, now. I don't know what the fuss about that is It's pretty crap for linking to other sites... No guarantee how long these piccies will be up, will rehost when Photodump.org is behaving again. Anyway... Clutch master cylinder adapter Extended clutch master cylinder rod. I've ended up making this even longer again... Just like a bought one Here are a couple after I gave it a bath I'm not digging the Veilside skirts Oh well... Got more wiring done today, and recalibrated the tacho. Picking up a welder tomorrow night so I can do the exhaust on the weekend All the dash can go back together now finally.
Will the bonnet close over the plenum? It won't close over the air filter hose. Have to agree with that.
lol that hose for the filter is obviously there temporarily...he is also getting the bonnet modded as the stock bonnet wont close over this plenum
**** after reading this whole thread now i know why tom isnt exactly super keen on doing this kind of conversion for customers
Yeah, no way would I want to do this if I was a workshop It'd be so hard to quote a price and guarantee that it would all work at the end... Had a busy weekend, but got most of the exhaust done. Wasn't too hard, just fiddly and awkward tacking things up upside down under the car. All the bits. About $1300 worth, so I've saved around $800 by putting it together myself, which is always nice My drivers side extractor comes out in a stupid spot Sitting pretty level, but the pass side muffler sort of points to the side a bit. Will fix it up on Tuesday. Just need to add 20mm or pipe to push it back a bit. All done except two hangers. Will grind some of the welds back a bit as they are a bit ugly, then pickle all the welds.
It is getting very close, good to see. How good does it fell to know you have done it all yourself, that's what makes this hobby so enjoyable.
Could you add heat and bend? Might give you that lateral 20mm you need. The stainless may need more pressure than mild steel though as it is springier.
Thumbs up Chris! I know how much work is involved in fitting up the way you are. I feel your pain. Its the final finishing off jobs and touches which are the hardest to get done. I know I still have a shiteload of things to do to finish my job off but Im a bit over it all right now and just enjoying driving it around!!!!! They'll just have to wait........... Keep at it M8. What Tas said. Still wiring and cleanup needed on my turbo engine install, heh and still havent polished the paint after it was laid on over a year and a half ago... But back to you Chrispy, im sure you'll make it all tidy before its on the road. Its looking snazzy. Planning on a high shine polish? I like the look of the mufflers. I was planning on getting them exact ones from the GB but didnt. Just looks so 'right'. More pics! Car porn for the eyes.
Nah, then the muffler would be too far to the centre of the car. I tried to bend the 12mm bar for the hangers, I couldn't bend it at all Also forgot to add that Max came round and put half my dash back together Saved me doing a job I've been putting off for ages. All I have left on the inside is to paint the sterio surround black and muck about with the S15 steering wheel. It bolts up OK, but the horn might take some fiddling to get working.
