Update time! Drove it again today :br: Still does good skids Oil pressure issues are much better than before, but still some issues. I think I'll try putting in another litre or so and see how that goes. I also rotated the oil pickup a bit to get it sitting more horizontal and lower to the bottom of the sump. I pulled the diff out as it was leaking between the extended cover and the housing. Oil was pretty dirty, probably just from breaking in the new LSD. Removed the gasket and just used goo instead and it's all good now. Drivers side extractor and the exhaust have been modified to give more ground clearance. Prick of a job doing the exhaust... I just used copper based sensor safe RTV on the extractors rather than gaskets, I just wanted to get this going... Apparently a lot of the GT40 guys do this with no issues and is working for me so far.
What do you mean by some issues Chris? Is the oil pressure still plummeting during cornering or hard braking? Also how far have you got the pickup sitting from the bottom of the sump? Mine is at about 5mm. Your oil capacity must be massive already by now... I've only got ~2L from the oil cooler, ~0.5L from the -8 AN lines and your old sump
My patrol uses about 8ltrs and it's a TB42. Then again, different engines have different needs. Must be getting pretty annoying by now.
Has it got a windage tray in it above the pan drop? Your oil is rushing over the top of the baffles away from the pick up. Make the baffles as high as you can. 6L of oil is heaps.
Yes, has a windage tray. The stock one which bolts to the girdle. No room for one over the top of the drop other than what I have in the piccy on the last page, pickup gets in the way too much. 6L of oil is total, 2L in accusump and 4L in sump. I think there is a lot staying in the head/block while driving. I'll chuck another 1L in this arvo and go for another fang and see how we go. Dry sump would be nice I think I'll be coming for a visit on Friday arvo if you're at the shop Eric. Time to talk about stuff Getting sick of this game. And I want to look at the silver Zed.
I will be there, drop in and see me. Bit upset to see you finally bite the bullet and sell it's bits off, even after all the ribbing I have given you.
Shame for you to sell the conversion after all that work, is there no way other than a turbo that would give you the power you want, perhaps some internal work?
Yep, it's for sale Clicky It's good to drive, but not enough power for what I want. I thought I'd be happy with 200rwkw, but turns out I was wrong Few different ideas getting thrown around at the moment, it will be different to most others thats for sure
Success! Hardwired the accusump to be open when the switch is on rather than switch is on AND oil pressure under 30psi. No oil pressure problems now Goes sideways in 3rd pretty easy
