Hi Greg, It's good to know that your little one is well behaved, and is disciplined when necessary, but IMHO that is an entirely different issue to Drongoman's criticism of "men who hit women". As a matter of interest, in the Philippines(a country in which women outnumber men by around 3 to 1), it is not an unusual event for men who hit women, to find their penis being presented in Court, displayed in a glass jar filled with alcohol. Oh right. I had no idea where it had started because I didn't think it would have been in reference to someone making a JOKE. But I agree with you on the most part with your beliefs. :zlove: So can we get back to the sorts of punishment we would inflict on people who damaged our Z's.
I was also brought up with never hit a lady. I have also never hit one, and if I see it happening I will step in. But to say that a woman should never be put in her place "just because" is redundant now adays. Due to a lack of discipline, many women now overstep the mark. One of my workmates had a glass smashed over his face, narrowly missing his eye, and is now permanently scarred. This was done by a paris hilton wannabe in a well to do establishment, because my friend asked her to leave due to throwing ice cubes at the bar staff. But I guess that you think that this is ok. If it happened to you, you would just smile and bid her good day? I have had a full can pegged at my head (and land) and have the same ladies try and smash a glass on my face twice The reason - I escorted one of their rowdy boyfriends from the venue for throwing pillows off the balcony at people waiting in line down below. Again, I never hit any of them, but it is ok for them to attempt to permantently disfigure me? Double Standard IMO

But there IS proof that a regressive gene has entered the species, and YOU have just shown it to us. I'm no religious fanatic, but I was brought up by parents who embraced the same sort of principles espoused by Drongoman's Dad(and they weren't Bible-bashing freaks of nature, just decent people). You weaken your case by raising religious comparisons and slurs, just to make your point, IMHO. Hitler showed us what an anti-religious society without moral values was all about, pity you weren't listening. It IS possible to hold strong moral values, without grasping a Bible, or Koran, in your hand, you know.
