    Indeed...

Yeah, I'm the same. Until I upgraded teh Fog Light bulbs to 55W I couldn't tell the difference between the Fogs and the Low Beams...Now the Fogs are brighter than the Low Beams with the mod. It's really quite pathetic. And if the police catch you using Fogs when theres no Fog, you get in trouble.

My Peugeot has nice bright low beams and I've always wondered why the Zed's Low Beams are so bad. I think it's just the design of the headlight housing maybe...

Anyway, I've been wanting to put HID's in since I got the car. Simply because night driving sucked and it is bordering on dangerous. They have always been too expensive though...until now... :)

You never run out of things to change with this car hey...just sucks the money right out of the wallet when it wants to... ;)

    Cheers
    Rob.

    Modification?

So when you fitted the HID, from your other thread on yours, it seems like you only needed to wire them in and didn't need to actually modify the lense, fitting or projector itself... Is that right or did I misread it?

are you informing people that any bulb over 6000k is illegal for street use... due to the blue complexion it can be a distraction to other drives, i think its over 6k or 4k not sure, if anyone dont believe me... look it up before you argue, i know people who have been done for blue lights purly for the high kelvin rating not coloured bulbs.

The kit comes with a prewired relay kit also.

If you don't use the relay kit, you simply plug the ballast into the headlight loom (headlight connector) for 12VDC and the globe connects to the ballast AC output.
It's very simple, as the connectors are all shaped in such a way that they can't be mismatched.
Wiring diagrams also come in the kit if you are unsure.

It's the same cost to the different colour, deepest blue is about 10000k less light output but really deep blue you'll have.

    Lighter blue would be 8000K

for the foggies normally will put some yellowish lights for foggies but australia has very few fog so a bluish foggy is fine, coz if there's a fog, bluish and whitish light will give a bad visibility.

1, best type would be 4300k, if u really want something damn bright, i can get the 43w hids(normal hid 35w) , which is not recommanded for road using coz they are too bright and will blind ppl for sure only the 4x4 use them for country drive.

    2, nop, p&p

Sorry to interrupt, but there was another thread where the canadian guy was explaining that ideally we also need the HID projector or reflector screen from a honda S2000 to really make the lighting better, where is that thread?

Trust me, the projector is not a "requirement"

The HIDs on their own make such an improvement it is a worthwile modification in it's own right. This is a 30 minute mod even for an amateur, whereas to remove the headlight assembly from the car and all the other associated headaches that come with it would put it in the too hard basket for some / most.
Now, if I was in FATE's position where the car was dismantled anyway, then I would do it, but for my money, $250 and 15 minutes a side max, bargain, and no real need to do the projector at all.
I know the projector Mod will improve the lighting again by cleaning up the beam, but not necessarily worth all the effort IMO.

I forgot to add that I'd like a 6000K lowbeam set..

unless 6000K isn't the highest + legal rating allowed in the state of NSW, in which case I'd go for the barely legal rating.

    Sorry mate! :D

a link to the old topic on these? I looked for posts you started and can't find much. I'm very interested in this kit, but need a little more info (like what kit to get).
