Damn that was fun...and Damn I was tired at work today. I'm glad everyone had so much fun, hopefully we can get a few more members along to some more events as it makes a nice change from cruising. Big thanks go to Karen from the NDSOC and Sean from the FPV club for all their work in putting this together. Thanks also to all the people not competeing who took all the neat photos and manned the points on the back track so we could all compete. I'll post a couple of vids when I work out how, in the mean time here is a picture Jen took. She only took 4 photos for the whole day....three of them were of this car.

Sorry mate, havent seen the results yet. I don't expect them till Wednesday, but as soon as I get them I'll post them straight up. The only result I do know is that the Porsche was the quickest car round the back track by quite a margin.

    Terrible discovery this morning .......

Although it rained on the way to Kalkallo, and rained on the way back home, it wasn't until driving to work in the rain today that I twigged I had done the whole day with the traction control on. Dammit!!! Now I wanna go back and do it all again with the t/c off! Seems that pulling a handbrake turn and mashing the throttle at the same time can trick it, but I reckon I could have had quicker starts without it. Might even have got me over the line against Chad in THAT race in the "VB Challenge".

This is coming out of a 180 degree turn using the handbrake and full throttle at the same time ... thanks to FPV member Go Baby Go, taken from their forum. I guess theres no LSD in there . Come on Krausy, I think you've got at least one pic in your box of tricks :D:D:D.

I was pretty pleased with the way the Magna handled during the day. Where it let me down was being relatively low in power for the back track. The 'khana times should be half good but I expect the back track to show me up against the TTs and FPVs.

It was definitely good sending 2 XR6 Turbos home in the challenge, but Chad, I WANT A REMATCH!!! Yeah, I'm shouting it!

All thanks to Pete and Jen who got the ball rolling last year, together with Karen and Sean from NDSOC and FPVXROC for arranging the day, and to my various "navigators" (mainly Jack) throughout the day. I reckon I went to sleep reciting centre-left-straight 3-180-straight 3-180-centre-left ...... that was the only way I could get a handle on "The Atom!"

Well done to Sandeep, I was only hearing good things about your times. To all the others that had a first time out, well done, lets see you back again. And to all wookies, vaders and especially JEDIs, get your arses out there next time!

Hey GOTBLZ, like your vid work. I know this was a 300ZX event, but did you get any vids of the Magna at work??? No worries if you didnt.

how did everyone stuff up on the atom...i loved it and i was the first one on it...but i ran through it like 100 times with sandeep though before we begun:p...cant remember the time but the only person who beat me on it was alex and that was by .3sec:(...cant wait to see the results especially against the ford boys:D...mikey that new ford xr6t driver that you vs'd first was a reallly really good driver when i watched him throughout the day and you beat him, i was like no way i wanted to vs him and you made it look easy...i wanted to vs the utes (and i did) as they were having trouble doing 180's throughout the day...i think only 1 or 2 MAX fords actually progressed the run again....was good though will be good to actually see how some other types of car (skylines) go at deca...love the day and thanks to all who organised the day, was awesome...

PS: apart from me and jake was anyone else sort of hurting:p:confused:

    Hey Mikey,

Didn't end up getting one of you on the 8's I only turned around when you were half way through and didn't get the time to turn on the camera, you were too damn quick :D

Got one of you on the back track though, I will upload that now. Should be up in about 5.

    Cheers, Paul.

I would also like to thank Pete for helping organise the 300zx side of this event as well as Karen from the NDSOC and the FPV boys, this was my first 'event' as such and wasnt sure how Id go as I always baby my car  But I must say I got more confidence over the day and cant wait til the next event I can attend!

I would also like to thank a few extra people, Mikey who let me borrow a full set of wheel nuts so I could put my stockies on instead of using my 19's, Jack for letting me grab a spare memory card towards the end of the day when I wanted to pray my camera back from Craig who had been using it for most of the day while I was out having fun. Last, but definitely not least, I would like to thank Renee and Craig for having me over the weekend it was a blast!

I must say DECA was hard for me, not so much for the idea of pushing my car harder than ever before, but because I was torn between my two favourite hobbies! Driving and Photography! Luckily I had a skilled friend who could take some great shots while I was outdriving, and just had a few shots of my own towards the end.

Ill let him post the photos he took, but here are a few I took over the weekend and mostly at the end for the intraclub battle :D

Craigs house had a dream garage!

Starting our DECA day from Bendigo gave us a good time advantage over most, arriving first gave us time to have a look around before everyone else arrived...

It wasnt too long before out backup arrived..

Now this vicious creature lurks in the carpark at the DECA track, beware, he steals peoples clothes!!!

This was a quick shot of the group meeting explaining the rules of the intraclub battle..

Peter shows us who he really is!

Karen did a great job all day in the varying conditions

...and looking good while doing it!

Some of the boys got just a little sideways having fun!

Jake and Ryanlok come to mind :D

Then there was Sandeep who was looking as in control as in his sig..

A closeup of the man doing his thing~
    [IMG]

Talk about giving it some! Look at this start, looks bad for Mitsi's traction control system...

Peter out having some fun, I still think that extra Plenum pull made you go that bit faster!

Not only did we have a good car count, we also had a good supporting group as well! Thansk to the guys and girls for coming out of their way to have fun with us!

Alex's beast getting a good workout..

Hey Mr.Editor (David) making good use of his little car..

Thanks again to all who came and made it a great day, I think we have won over a few extra people for our next events

    lol... tough crowd...

I was watching your handbrake turns, you looked like a pro. Was like I was watching one of those little mini's from the motorkhana's... the back end just flicked and you powered out. very impressed by the magna, it certainly would own the parent's camry... would have been interesting if you had a magna AWD.

haha yeah that pic is my fav, i am going to find one of those stickers and i'll put it on ryan's car/face next time i see him :) . i am pumped for sandown now. and i agree with wykked, we need more track/motorsports events like this.

that post makes me sad :( and man i really did screw up the atom course, two WD's and it wasn't even that hard to remember... i always screw up when i get put under pressure. i was trying too hard to impress Jedi who was my PSA for that run :p

to tell you the truth, young ryan, i didn't adjust your handbrake at all. it was all in your mind, i just pretended to adjust your handbrake during the lunch break. you did it all by yourself. well done.

nah just kidding, it was all in the handbrake.

lol but honeslty man you dominated the skidpan and without a handbrake was too hard to do the courses on the pan...thanks for the help:D...also i see that a ford guy (atleast 1 at the moment) has beaten me on the back track that i know of...so far the porche is coming first with the 46.8sec pass and another ford got 47.5...damn stupid boost i wanted to win one thing atleast:p

hey he didnt beat me. i just lost. we'll put it that way lol...ohh sooo bloody close. had him by a gooooood margin and i had to hit that last cone

dude your car looked great out there. for me it was one of my fav to watch out there. your sideways action was just awsome to watch

    awsome vids man ;);)

    post or ban :D:D

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that would have to be the funniest picture of the day.

ye they were bloody awsome. i had them on the front. felt so good. thanx to everyone who told me to put them on the front lol. was great beacuse i had the turning circle and then wen i did kick it out it didnt spin out because the fronts were nicely gripping. esp on the back track felt so good around the bends and cones. :D

dude. quit while ur behind :p

ur a loser. u would have loved to be out there, esp the back track. would have liked you to come

excuses, excuses :p:p:p:p. haha im ready when ever you want :D. that was my first time ever doing a proper motorkhana day. i was relativly happy with my performance for the day. some more events and i should get the hang of things even more :D

agreed 100%. this was another one of my fav's watching. the handbrake turns were spot on, loved the way that he shot the car in the exact same direction he wanted to go in, bloody awsome
