Prepped the shell for paint Gave it a polish boots going to be carbon so didn't need to paint that one Once that was done I started on my roll cage
Thanks for the comments guys These turned up from the U.S. today Nice big single intake manifold I'll be making using 1/4inch aluminium Q45 throttle body 4.5inch internal diameter I'll make a start on this once the manifolds are done Pics are just roughly how it will sit
holy shit this is a great thread man. i want those stonker wheels on the rears when you first got the car!! awesome work i shall be keeping a very close eye on this, as i suspect the majority will.
Bit of an update Finished the manifold on the other side Then knocked up this 2 into 1 Fully purge welded
Not much of an update really as I've been busy at work so not had much time But fitted the spare engine and test fitted the manifolds, nice and simple and will take about 10min each side to fit and remove, Also this came today Mishimoto 25 row dual pass oil cooler
Got the turbo mounted today I was originally going to mount it low down but I couldn't get enough angle on the oil drain to stop it backing up it wouldn't of sloped So I mounted it higher plus I like that it's more on view This way it keeps the two merges more equal although one is still longer Easily clears the bonnet
keep it up dude. that bay is going to get freaking hot with that dump pipe the size of a telegraph pole
It will but the manifolds, exhaust housing and dump pipe are all going to be coated at zirotec which should reduce temps considerably http://www.zircotec.com
Not much to update as I've been doing some other bits Fitted a new solid steering bush And gave the steering colum a lick of paint Added some more to the cage and got part of it zinc primered Welded one of the manifolds up fully purged I've been developing some new twin turbo manifolds for someone else I've changed the design of the merge collectors here's how they look again purged looking great inside and out I've got quite a few parts coming in a few days so will update after
man was your steering bush a **** to install? I had the engine out and still, you wouldn't believe the length of the breaker bar I had to use.
So some nice parts were waiting for me when I returned home from work yesterday 4 point harnesses Front adjustable lower arms Rear adjustable lower arms
It is seam sealer just wanted extra protection where I welded the spare wheel well, not sure which it is I'll have a look for you later when I'm home from work
