Yes Chad, you are spot on. And like you said, bog stock healthy engine that hasn't been cracked at all. No head work, not plenum porting, no cams, just the bolt-on's mentioned above. In saying that, obviously you're going to get longer life out of a forged engine if you plan on running more than this power through it all the time. Put it this way, it's just my daily driver and i never do track work or push the engine. Just the occasional 1st & 2nd gear hammer just to get those awesome butterflies in the tummy going :)

And to narrow down whether it's the coolers or not, you just measure the boost from a different position in the line.

Boost measured from the pressurised intake line before the coolers = 20psi
Boost measured from the pressurised intake line after the coolers = ~16psi

    (no boost leaks obviously)

    good work benny ,

its good to see that there is more in it, i bet your hanging to put it up more.

340 would be nice to see , and in fact it will be a very fast street car ,

this is what i love about it , you have 320 but there is more in it , ..

even on the stock engine you should see some good numbers..
it seems like your all most there keep going and let us know what this beast can do ..

i would not run the bell mouth , system like that really need a lot of air ..

    ( SRIKTLY NOT A DEBAIT , JUST MY 2 CEN )

hey Benny , have you taken out all the crap .. egr etc etc ?

that should all help as well , you never know what you have till its all done , so good luck and keep it coming ...

    Yes, that's all gone :)

Thanks very much for your encouragement! :)
Yes it is a very quick streetable car even now. Bugger all lag either, considering it's not using ball bearing turbos - but i'd say the fact that they have the smaller stock 4 bolt housings that make a hell of a difference in helping with lag.

I'll be sure to post up more results when they get done early in the new year :)

    Cheers :zlove:

Winter pffft, after new year more like it... You'll need a few practice runs before you put down a top time in winter Pex - launching on the street doesn't count [TIS]

A week or 2 after the new year series at willowbank should give a bit of traction once all the rubber has been layed down by the big boys.

Kudos Benny, I like the fact that someone is showing what can be done with relatively cheap bolt ons rather than spending big bucks on doing a full engine rebuild which is what a lot of Z'ers seem to do. There's nothing wrong with that but there would be a lot more high power Z's on the forum if people just aimed purely at bang for buck.

always been achievable, whats Benny has proved is there is no need to throw 20k + into the pot to get it like some of the experts do lol

How long till it melts though? Karl's first engine did, and he's not exactly an amateur and was running less power.

I hope for Benny's sake it lasts for a while, but the heat those turbo's will be pushing must be quite large at 20psi, I'd love to see the intake temps

But if a piston does go, which seems to be the problem on standard engines with big turbo's, it's not too expensive to do a stock rebuild with a set of forgies.
