What a productive weekend, I finally got to start making one of my corner mount sub boxes:D
Here are some progress pictures, I intend to make molds from the finished boxes and make them available in the FSBB section
They have been made to suit 10" / 12" subs and TARGAS TOO

    Looking awesome!
Any idea what volume the boxes enclose?
    for 2+2 or 2 seater?

    My guess

Is somewhere around 30/40 litres. I'll have get around to that tomorrow
These are for a 2 seater, The 2+2 boxes will be along within a few weeks (A fellow member that lives rather close has offered me the back of his Z to mock from)
But i want to get these complete before starting

Alright guys - I've had inquiries before, and since I've had two just today, I'm going to make the 6" and 4" dual pods my next priority, but I'm going to need definate numbers - so pm me if you're interested and will follow through with the purchase.

I'll also be working on the 6x9 rear speaker enclosure for the 2 seater (I've got mock ups, but the boxes have taken up all of my time this weekend).

Where exactly would the 6x9 boxes go on a 2 seater?

Right next to the 1/4 windows

A few people have suggested this but personally i want to make a complete replacement panel to suit a 6x9 in the stock location(not to sure if it would work but i'll look tomorrow)

Stock location would look better imo, theme it in with the other boxes somewhat :)

    Looking good mate,

I'll be interested in a set of sub boxes. I want to put a sub one side and use the other side as a battery box. Not sure how i'm going to go about it yet but was thinking of puttting the hole for the sub there to have battery access and using a fake sub woofer grill as some sort of door.
You would just definatly need a way of securing the whole thing. Probably just bolt it to the floor from inside the box, then fit the battery inside with some sort of tray and tie-down/clamp setup.

Anyway, i'll follow your progress :)

    Ben

those look awesome mate and are very practical. i would be in for a set of two for a 4 seater

with the speaker pods, i made 6" pods by cutting the panel directly behind the driver and passenger seat and putting a speaker spacer there. all that is left is to fibreglass over the top and smooth it over

I started making this sort of set up a while ago but really all I made was a flase floor and part of the box lol. IMO is what looks best is the way you have done it but if you create a slant so woofer sits up on more of a angle as opossed to dead strait.

    nice one mate ;)

I thought about making it a slant setup

but was way to difficult to have a decent litreage and still fit a large sub
Also it was built small to fit the targa's, This setup is more about practicality ( would love to have it for show but i am sick of scratching the targa's)

I may be required to do it with the 2+2 setup though

any suggestions 2+2 owners on what you would like it to look like

Macman: these will fit upto 12" subs and i am still pricing everything, These will be fitted with terminals (any suggestions where)

ryanlok15: Can you PM me the model number of the sub you intend to use

Ascension: Cool idea, they will be fixed in place with a strap that will tuck behind the trim panel at the top and straps to the stock mounting points for the trim panel on the bottom(if its goiing to hold a battery it might need a bit more)

    Claymen: I might just do that:D :D

excellent work man. this is exactly what i had been planning to start doing to my boot.

the best sugestion i can make though is why you didnt go the full legnth of the side plastic? like make the box all the way up to the middle panel. will look heaps more smooth and nice....

im guessing its because of the targas not fitting? how did u measure them?

when i was measuring my boot up i measured the targas both on top of each other in the middle of the boot and i saw that i would be able to get away with making the boxes the way i wanted up to the middle piece. exactly the same as you have done but longer...

on a side note i didnt accuratly measure it as i hadnt started the job...have you measured it that way at all ?

also the box i was going to make would have started from the front side of the plastic so that it blends in nicely...

check out this pic and this is what i mean. this is how the front face of the box would be from...

if you have a look at this box you can see what i mean from where to start it so it blends in nicely. (circled area) ...
