How are you checking for leaks? Are you blowing the engine up? Are you spraying joiners with soapy water? Have you checked everywhere, intercoolers etc? If you have a large leak, you should be able to hear it.
Update two weeks of hoildays and got some stuff done to the zed. painted the calipers, but of a dodgy job but alright, stainless braked lines installed, tuneagent tension rods install, hard wired the seris 2 ptu in, installed the HICAS lock bar (that was a bitch) and put the throttle covers strip on. Still have to fix boost leak before the end of the week. here are some pics. before the clear coat after the clear coat
.. looking good, bonez .... seems boost leaks are the flavour of the week ...!!!! one Q ... where did you score the silver strips for the throttle cable covers ..???
So true Baz . Dean and I doing the plenum pull found the drivers side hard pipe still in the joiner but able to move loosly and the return to the hardpipe from boost soleoid unplugged as well must be the week for it Cheers Patrick
got bored today. so i this to see what it will look like. this is the colour I'll be painting the car. and here is one of the new rims. the car is up on blocks, but give you an idea.
Wow... She is coming along really nicely. So I hear you want to chuck another tech day with some of that delicous cheese bake (may or may not contain potato). I swear I wont break down this time
got some more done well last weekend i pulled the rear subframe out to change the bushes. i was going to replace the big ones. but instead i'm just going to put the lock rings in it. should have it back in and all hooked up by tomorrow. when i dropped it out these were a bastard to get out and these were just as bad to get in. cheers.
Why not? You don't like to admire your own work? Doing a bang up job, I must say. Good work Bones, can't wait to see it rollin' out with the rest of us.
and the subframe is back in. with a thanks to magic mike for helping me out. we got the subframe back in in under 2 hours. hardest part was lifting it up on two jacks at the same time. Lock Rings the helper and its back in cheers
great work on the engine mate, i've been folowing your thread and am interested in doing something similar while i have my car off the road. what parts did you have polished and painted. i know so far you chromed the plenum and the throttle bodies, plus the addition of the chrome hard pipes. you painted the timing belt covers, the cover going down the center of the plenum and part of the coil pack. what else have you done? i would like to get a list so i know what to research and what i'm in for before i start my 200k service. also are there chrome hardpipes for N/A's (obviously they would be different but yeah) thanks mate.
okay number one: only the intake pipes are crome. cause that is the only way i could buy them. Number 2: no other part has been cromed on my car. it is all polished and painted. i'll try and get you a full list before the end of the week.
Good job Bonez Those diff bushes are the easiest of the lot to come out! Have a go at the 4 subframe bushes!!! Lookin smooth.
