every time you see a company car with signage on it you looking at exterior vinyl.

and by coats do you mean the vinyl and the paint? if so..water is never getting under this stuff. I went to trim up the back part where the infill panel goes and it had been stuck there for a good week or 2 and it was bloody stuck down good and proper. The sun has been on my first panels for a good month and a bit now, still looks brand new. So im more than happy with the product so far. If anything happens though ill be sure to report on it.

    cheers,
    matt

I think it will deterioate around the edges first. from UV and water from both rain and washing it. I hope i am wrong on this, cause he has put a lot of work into it.

    Concern noted.

i just went out to the zed and had a really really close look at some of the first bits i did which was on the 13th of august, a good 1.5 months ago. These panels have been exposed to the sun, hose, rain... everything. They look immaculate, i cant fault them at all, even the colour is the exact same as the fresh piece i just put down on the bonnet.

The secret i think is...wrapping the edges up and underneath so that they are hidden and also super heating it to 80+ degrees to remove the vinyl memory and then about a week or so and its fully set..NOTHING is getting under there i can assure you :)

As far as the product itself goes, A+! Applying it is a whole different story...i don't claim to be an expert but i usually have a knack for these kinds of things. Tt has been extremely difficult in some places to say the least.

if anyone is considering doing the same and you have a good amount of time and patience i say go for it, you wont regret it. It comes in all colours for gloss and white/black in matte.

    cheers,
    matt :)

Keep up the good work Matt. I've been watching this thread with interest over the weeks, and look forward to seeing the finished product in the flesh one day. Have you considered getting a spare set of door handles and painting/powdercoating them matt black?
PS. You could also change your surname to 'Black' by Dpol :)

hahahahahah thats great! i like those little play on words.

Good to know there's people keeping up with it but not commenting :)

I told myself i was going to keep the 2 tone look for awhile until i could figure out a new front bar. I think the front bar is closer to happening now so im more determined to get cracking on the lower part of the zed. After doing the bonnet im craving more blackness so on Monday i plan to do a section of the back and then work my way forward.

I haven't put much thought into the door handles, just figured i would disassemble them at wrap it...hmm.

i plan on attending all the Qld events so im sure you will get to see it at some point pregz :)

    cheers,
    matt black

You onto it by making sure the edges are wrapped under well.
My laser was fully covered and after 9 months, still all good. Mind you mines in a carbon fibre wrap, a material with the fibres woven into it and I had to use a spray on glue.
You have patience I can say that for sure. Good work too.

Glad iam wrong so far. by wraping around the edges I can see how thats going to help prevent damage. Your doing a great job of it keep it up, I can imagine its tedious lol,. Are you doing the whole bonnet?
