What about starting when warm? Does it start ok?

When starting warm it starts straight away with no problems.
I installed new spark plugs aswell with no changes.

When starting it it takes about 5 minutes, literally, maybe more to get it started.

    OK, standard ECU?

Also try unplugging the AFM and starting it cold. The ecu increases the fuel delivery for starts under 80 degrees, so it sounds like it's not doing it for whatever reason. I accidently set all my fuel increase values to 0 for a tune and made it difficult to start cold.

I am fairly certain it has a standard ECU, i havent checked that actually.

I will try and do that tomorrow, thanks for your help mate

Ok i disconneced the AFM and no change at all, why does it not start when cold? it just happened out of the blue.

Its like when im cranking it for ages it warms up a little and then wants to start

CTS was mentioned earlier, did you try start it with that removed?

I tried to start it just then with the CTS unplugged, no luck.

    Starting to worry

When cranking you might be flooding the injectors with fuel. they might be starting to foul. pull a couple out check to make sure they are no soaked.

So if they are fouled, will that cause the car to take 10 or so minutes to start?

Just want to know before i start pulling bits off, because i am not that mechanically minded.

wow i just reread my post. boy it sucked.

anyway. chances are if its flooding, it wont start at all. scrap that idea.

Ahhh FML, I just don't know what to do, it just seems like a little problem and nothing extreme, i haven't heard of this before.

    Thanks for all your suggestions!

Maybe i should hold a techday or something?

Your best bet on these sort of issues.

Any Canberra Zedders who have a clue about these cars wanna help me? Will pay for your services, would rather money go to one of you guys then a mechanic who doesn't know his way around zed's.

Or can pay in parts? as I have an abundance of them in the garage lol

This is my child, i just want it to run!

I did the diagnostics ECU check, the one where the engine check light flashes a code, and it came up with the CTS.

I can source a CTS but i want to change the plug over too. Where can i find on of those? Preferably in Australia and not O/S

It doesn't have one for some reason, so im getting twin thermos.

Would having a bad CTS make the car not start when cold?

Holden v6 Commonwhore injector plug for the CTS connector. Bosch quick-release style. Just file down the guide on the CTS and it fits. Simple 30 second job, and majority of the connectors at your local wrecking yard will be in near perfect condition.

Fit the factory single push thermo to the front of the vehicle. Isnt really necessary. Recall the ECU switches it at 105-degrees.... a little too high for my comfort, but if you have working Air-Con, a simple mod allows the thermo to pull in when you switch your AC on, compensating for temp increases and making the AC more efficient.

Dual Ford EL thermos are the best conversion, set up as Pull style (provided you have an NA). Recently purchased a new pair, for around $130 delivered. Drz400y did a pretty good writeup on them, fitting them to his turbocharged NA, including the Jaycar voltage control kit used for controlling them- intercepts the CTS voltage at the CPU, and allows you to set your own voltage/temperature range for operation.

Thanks mate, ill have a look into all of that, my friend has some subaru twin thermos for me so we will see how they fit. My car is a TT, will that effect anything?
