Not bad for the first time on the track (circuit racing), 2nd hand tyres, and we didn't get time to do the suspension bushes - which failed.

Thanks to Jason, John, Craig & Peter who got it back on the track for the showdown.

Unfortunately Jason spun on the cold tyres over the hill.

We were running on low boost and we were going to wind up the boost, but the day finished earlier than we expected and he couldn't run it again.

    Cheers

Like I said before, the sprints were hand timed so there is no result site like eg Natsoft has.

Apparently it had been arranged to have electronic timing but the system crashed a week before and noone told the organisers, who had to rush round at the last minute getting stop watches and finding people to work them

    Yes THunder

That Drift come circuit zed thundered, right in my right ear, and seemed to have good grip with those slicks, and Jason peddled it well. Happy to help and lots more in that car.

We had issues with the DriftZ right up till the night before it was leaving. It was down 150hp from the previous dyno and we had trouble finding it.

This wasted approx 3 days and we couldn't get the suspension bushes fitted in time, and a lot of other things done.

We were trying to get it to Oran Park for a shakedown, but that didn't happen either. So Jason had never driven it before it got up there, and it had never been circuit raced before.

Luckily, one of Jason's friends, an "Old Bloke" who worked at Holden dropped by at 7.00pm the night before. Here he was hobbling in on crutches, brand new titanium knee, and he had the problem diagnosed and we fixed it in 30 minutes !!!

We have several changes we now have to make before it races again.

Thanks for your help at the track JP !

I think it shocked a few people as to how good it went (JP included!!!)

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Talk about busted arse trophy - well Jason should get it hands down !!!

On the way to pick up the car he got booked for speeding - double demerit points!!!

He got pulled over on the way up and they wanted to defect the trailer because the clearance lights went out (tail lights were still working), and they wanted him to leave the trailer on the side of the road with Caz's car and all the tools and wheels on it, in the middle of no-where. Jason talked his way out of it and fixed it at the next town.

He then got a flat in the trailer tyre - jack can only lift 1 tonne! Luckily I packed a small air compressor and he pumped it up and got to the next town. He filled it up with tyre sealant and got to Warwick at around 3.30am.

On the way back, the engine in the truck blew up 1 km south of Tamworth at 11.00pm on Easter Sunday !!! He arranged for his Landcruiser to be picked up on a tilt tray from his house at Campbelltown and towed to Tamworth. It was pissing down with rain and the 3 of them had to try to sleep sitting up in the truck.

The trailer got hitched to the Landcruiser, and the truck with DriftZ on board was loaded onto the tilt tray.

Jason has a bad case of gout and ran out of tablets. By the time he arrived back here at 3.30pm on Monday, I had to lift him out of the Landcrusier, and he ended up in hospital all night.

If this doesn't deserve some sort of "Busted Arse" trophy, I don't know what does !!! Anyone else with a better story?

Does anyone know what times the DriftZ was doing? It was right on JP's bum by the end of the 3 laps, so it couldn't have been much in it.

    Cheers
    Greg

FANTASTIC time had by all i think!!! as always, it's an absolute pleasure spending a long weekend away with Zedders! it's just such a shame to have to wait a whole year till the next one!!!

I think what really topped it off was having Party Central right across the road and the most hospitable host and hostess ever!! Thanks so much Kristy and Craig for giving us a home away from home for 4 days! (anyone to volunteer for Armidale?!? :D)

Thanks to Andy for providing my transportation!! i notice you didn't mention about getting the Zed covered in liquid shit on the way home!! (pretty funny - we were following a livestock semi-trailer on the way home as it was raining, so this thick brown spray came out of the back of it! only funny cos it wasn't my Zed!!! :D) we stopped by Armidale on the way home for a bit of a re-con mission. I think next year is going to be awesome! plenty of things to do and roads to be driven!!

well, here's the pics i have...

    WOW WHAT A WEEKEND

Ellie and I got back to smelly old Sydney at about 9.15 last night after a gentle drive back.

Many thanks to everyone who helped to make Warwick such a fantastic weekend and especially to Craig, Kirsty and all the Kaos family who showed us such fantastic hospitality.

Can't wait to see you all again.

We are already booked in for Armidale.

    Cheers and safe Zedding

    Great weekend

Drove to warwick mid morning friday quickly swapped my wheels and adjusted front camber and took off to the track for practice, mmm I loved the track lots of nice corners to test the limits of the car,

Fri nite is abit of a haze something to do with being handed shots and i passed out nothing more happened there

Sat morning woke feeling the hard drinking the nite before, OUCH, headed to the show and shine didnt venture too much and silly me forget to check the camera had a memory card in it before i left brissy DOH!!

Sat nite was a nice fairly quiet affair well for me it was I was still feeling the effects of the nite before, then i was kept up most of the nite by a couple of snorers.

Sunday even thou I was feeling abit tired was looking forward to getting back out on the track and seeing just how my lap times were, As far as i know my best was 4:05 something for the 3 laps which put me about 3secs a lap slower than The Wizard and Ports maybe I needed to be out on the track with them :D or maybe some turbo's might have helped, Very fun track I'll have to go back and see just how quick I can get down there.

Was great to catch up with everyone so many people I havent seen in ages

Few thanks go out to DinoZ who lent me a extinguisher seen i left mine behind when packing everything and Wikked for some spare rear pads seen mine kinda of died at the end of the track day.
And last but not least Craig and Kristy for putting me up for the weekend at fairly short notice.

Look forward to catchin up with everyone at the next event :D

    My Story..:) Lots of PICS!

Wow, what a weekend.... It was fantastic to finally meet and put a face to many of the interstate people that really make this forum the awesome network that it is. Big thanks to Kaos and Ultimate Kaos for opening their doors to us and providing a place where all members could relax, eat and just have some fun..:) Also thanks to K-Zed for getting the ball rolling regarding accommodation at the Coachmans Inn. I thought it was a nice place and had no complaints...

For most of the Vic crew, our journey started early Tuesday morning which got us into Warwick on Thursday arvo. Redzedmikey and zxtt-1 were to follow, arriving on the Friday arvo just in time for some practice on the track. Blipman of course cheated because instead of doing the hard slog like the rest of us, he decided to fly into Queensland and then get a lift with K-Zed... something about wanting to maximise his time while in Aus.... like, whatever Ben..:)

Judith and I left early Monday morning and this is where things went sour for us.... I caught some sort of stomach bug while in Warwick and what started as a ?crappy? feeling on the Sunday turned into a whole day of vomiting for me on the Monday. Needless to say, I felt like absolute shite and driving the 850 odd kms to Sydney (had to drop Judith off in Sydney) with constant nausea was not fun..:( Thankfully, Blipman drove my car most of the way (thanks heaps Ben) while I cocooned myself as passenger in red32?s car and made awful sick noises. One hour out of Sydney, it was apparent that Judith was not immune to the bug as she proceeded to vomit on the Newcastle-Sydney Fwy, with most of it landing in my zed as Ben really had no where to pull over in time...:( So if anyone finds a green / pink towel on the side of the freeway, with a very pungent aroma, that belongs to us..:) Anyway, after a good nights sleep in Sydney with a few more spews thrown in for good measure, we seem to have fought off the bug making the remainder 866km back to Melb a much more pleasant drive...:) Arrived home tonight at 6:20pm, after leaving Sydney airport at about 9am... Not a bad run if I say so myself..:)

Below are a few pics I took on the weekend. Too many photo?s to show them all.... but you get the idea...

The first days drive got us into Parkes, where we shacked up in some Cabins (the name of the place currently escapes me)...

The second day got us into Narrabri.... into some.. ?interesting? accommodation..... with live mice, dead mice, and a bathroom ceiling covered in cobwebs and spiders (well, ours was anyway)....

On the third day we finally made into Warwick... The Vic crew were one of the first there, so at this stage, parking was a plentiful.... That changed quickly once the Qld crew and NSW crew arrived, but we still managed, occasionally having to play musical chairs...

Just a quick few pics from the show and shine.... There was an awesome selection of quality Z32?s there.... and yet, no scored a trophy.... As always, the Nissan / Datsun clubs of Australia just don?t take the Z32 seriously.... In their eyes, its all about the 240 - Z31.... We have the numbers, and its up to us to ?re-educate? their minds...

I know I should have been more excited about the GTR, but I just wasn?t. Dont get me wrong, an awesome car...... but I was just over it this weekend... and as a track car, it just didn?t make enough noise for my liking..

Sunday was race day... and what a fun day it was.... All except for Redzedmikey..:( My heart skipped a beat when I heard him coming around the corner with a god awful rattle coming from his engine....

Yes Thunder it did suprise me. More so when I realise more is in it, steering rack bushes need changing and a few other little things it wil go even better. How much lighter is that LS1 motor over the VG, I am curious to know?

I was talking to Jason this morning aobut our next outing, and should come along 2nd May at Wakey SAU track day. Fairly easy pickings at this one.
