Been talking to hypergear about getting GTX3071 compressor and turbine wheels crammed into the GT28RS housings. Seems its not a problem to do but he is not too sure how it would run on the application. Looking around it seems that ATP offer GT28RS style compressor housings anyway so it shouldn't be too bad at all bolted upto an auto.

Some 2.5" cooler piping is on its way from the US, so i'll be going to sidemounts soon enough. Keen to see if the "breather mods" make any real world difference.

Ah you nabbed them? Good pick up, shame about the dollar. Are your FMIC pipes 2.5"?

The pipes arent but the fmic has 2.5" in/out

Going to get some new FMIC connecting pipes made up?

Not sure, im leaning towards japtek massive smics, but im going to price up both options

Mad, I'd go the Japteks in that situation.

Yeah im leaning towards them, i really like the fmic though..

You could get the pipes made easy enough

Ok well looks like I'll just have to buy a set of cooler pipes from coz or something, this guy couldnt find any shipping options below $400US and it would be cheaper to buy new if thats the case.

Pricing up some TH400s and man the price is making me think twice. 4.5k for a box to handle the power and then the additional stuff like a tailshaft, converter, shifter, sump and dipstick ends up as serious coin. Hard to justify when i was thinking of getting a GTR sometime next year.

If you go a manual valve body on the th400 it will take a tonne of power and its not expensive to do that.

But yeah if you are only going to run the car for a year then just see what you can do with a 5 speed

Less talking about buying Porsches and GTRs and more money into Z

Well, spent a few hours last night trying to tune the damn thing only to find out i have a massive boost leak, she wont go over 12psi no matter what the controller is set to.

Going to have to check over all my pipework and start again but man it was good fun :-D

At 11psi we got the injector duty cycle to 37% and hit 4.675afm voltage. Timing is at 17 degrees up top and afrs are 11.0 at 11psi. I tried my high boost setting and afrs dipped to 9.63 (bottom of the sensor) and only reached 12.5psi or so. Cars not massively quick but for having a boost leak and still being so rich it moves pretty well :)

Alright so it looks like either my balance tube or one of the push lock fittings is leaking as my pipework is mega tight now. I started again on the tune, using my jap tune as a base map. I pulled a few degrees out in the high load area's and managed to get the AFR's to mid 11's on full noise....only problem is i had to keep it on 9PSI to get it to hold a steady AFR across the board. I tried 14PSI and it just went dogshit rich.

So with AFR's at mid 11's (11.3-11.6) and boost at 9PSI

    AFM: 4.545v
    IDC: 38%

Again boost will never reach its set point, even with the controller maxed out 14PSI is all that it will reach and it dips super rich.

Also managed to pick up a set of mickey thompson ET streets in 255/60/15 with 5 passes on them for dirt cheap on au falcon rims. Just need to sort this bloody leak out. Standard boost sucks a fat one!

Sorted out most of the leaks last night thanks to Rob260, managed to get a stable tune on the car and man what a difference! 11.5afr, 17° of timing at 17psi boost, super responsive but my tyres seem to hate high boost. Will sort the E85 tune as i get time over the next week or two. Also hitting 41% duty cycle on high boost.

Great news, looks like another EBC has shit itself. All of a sudden my Eboost2 is stuck on wastegate pressure. Ordered a new solenoid but i think the actual unit may be cactus. I've gone and ordered a new turbotech MBC(AGAIN!) as they seem to be the only reliable option so far.

Before it crapped itself, on 16PSI i recorded
Injector duty cycle at 45% (11.4:1AFR at tail pipe)
    AFM: 4.705v at 6350rpm.

I'm hoping to throw the GM Flex sensor in sometime this weekend so i can get some corn juice up in the POS. I'm planning to hit the drag strip up in the coming weeks so we'll see what this slapper can do :D

Well i got the flex fuel sensor installed yesterday, so i decided to head down to my local United servo for some 107RON E85. Filled up my jerry cans, drained most of the 98 out of the tank, filled it up with 20L of E85 and fired her up...... man what a smell out the exhaust! :D Smells like a distillery but man i'm really happy my basemap worked. Going to pick up a spare boost controller tonight and will be road tuning :D 22PSI here i come.
