Ok, work has been pretty full on so even looking at the zed has been hard to do. BUT...... I pulled the plenum off the silver cars motor(to replace my ugly white plenum) Rob and I then pulled the plenum off my slicktop and pulled the fuel rail and injectors out. We got the injector adaptors into the lower plenum That is how things sit at the moment, several fittings still need to be ordered along with an upper plenum gasket before i go any further. Will be replacing a million stuffed electrical connectors too while i'm at it.
That wont make the other fittings arrive any quicker..... besides a new one has already been ordered.
Progress! BDE rails installed, Bosch 1000cc E85 injectors installed, still needs fuel hose, Balance tube modded and new coilpack connectors but its almost there! Used my JAP swat tune as a base map, i pulled a bit of timing out up top and resized the injectors and load scaling. We'll see in a week or two how it runs
Okay, just need the balance tube welded up and im ready to start tuning this S.O.B... wired my wideband directly to the battery, next phase is the pre turbo water injection, we'll see how hard those tiny t22s can work.
This happened today..... Got it idling at a nice 14.8AFR, give it any gas however and the wideband jumps to 10AFR, then 20, then the car dies. My current guess is the injector connectors, have to have a quick look and make sure everything is in the correct spot and seated.
Pretty sure its the injector connectors may be mixed up, still have to pull the fuel rail off to chase the wiring back and make sure. Tune is the exact same that i was running on the 370cc injectors, however i have used the Total injection multiplier(T.I.M) to resize the injectors to 1000cc and the latency from 750uS to 950uS as stated on the injector sheet. Car starts and runs, AFR sits at 14.8 and will then swing towards the 10AFR mark and then back to lean(off scale) if i try to give it slight gas, the car also sounds like a WRX as this is happening so i know for sure a cylinder or two isn't doing what its meant too. I've tried four separate BIN files with the injectors resized and latency changed and it runs the same: Top secret Jap tune Swat Jap tune Factory Manual tune Factory Auto tune.
you could take the cas off, turn by hand and chase the firing order too listen to each injector click in time
Ok, sorted the running issue. One injector connector pin was loose and one coilpack decided to die aswell. Got that sorted and adjusted the total injection multiplier in nistune to get the idle/low end AFR's close. Car has no rego atm so i can't do much more but saying that i cant wait to take it out on the road and give the tune some loving Also a small anti lag test [yt]yyv0sUbdBe0[/yt]
Wanted to try more RPM but didn't feel keen enough Waiting on some fittings for the flex fuel sensor and then the fun can really begin
