Have to order them in from the US these guys seem to be the best: http://www.acpt.com/driveshaft/index.html They totally guarantee their driveshafts as they are made for racing applications. There was another company that was a bit cheaper but just made them because they could, and these didnt always balance perfectly. Fairly pricey though at about $1000US last time I checked but much stronger and lighter than any metal one. Dunno when mines going to be running next. Still waiting on the clutch to arrive and a few other things in the works. Hopefully the clutch will be here in the next couple of days but the earliest I can get my car into the shop wont be until next week. So Im guessing about the 17th I will be heading down again if all goes well.
by the time I'm done all my neat little ideas will have been thought of by someone else I'll just have to keep on customizing it to set it apart from the rest - I just need another couple of days in the week or a double to do the work while I'm sleeping.
Not sure I dont see why they cant because I think they make for TT and NA so I cant see why they couldnt combine the two ends. Is this for your car or JPC300s your talking about? Have you gone for the NA diff in your car? Just wondering if you thought about the new TT diff gear so you have an NA ratio but keep the strength of the bigger diff.
With stock turbos you can get to 11sec???? besides boosting the psi, what else would you do to get 11sec? Max
sleep is for the weak...I can slip you some pills from rocklea if you need have you HPC your gear lever and linkages yet for faster changes or you going to drop in air assist? shadow
intake, exhaust, ecu the 11.61 is still on stock injectors also if Im not mistaken. The most important thing is good tyres, hence a good 60' and some smooth changes at the right points. He had a 1.6 60' time for that.
no hpc'ing there. Though I was thinking the other day I could make them out of alloy and it would be lighter but I've got a lot more important things to get done before I think of starting something crazy like that.
How much do you charge for polishing a plenum? I could be interested in sending you one if you want some more cash! AB
depends on how much of the plenum you want polished. If you want the entire thing polished all over including underneath and the valley then it's mega dollars (~$1200 I've never done one like this before so it's only an estimate). To do just the visible parts (excludes underneath, valley ) then it would cost around $450 exchange. I have a plenum at home that I want to start on in the next few weeks but it usually takes me at least a month to finish one since I usually one get to spend weekends on it.
Imports only lane... ...that would be Peter Pike's doing isn't it JP? He's recently taken over running WSID. Great guy that knows how to run events. He's already being missed at the Motorplex over here! We've had the seperate V8's, 6 cylinder imports and 4 cylinder imports lanes for quite some time and it works really well.
I prefer willowbank's way >> they take two from one of the staging lanes so if you want to drag against your friend all you have to do is make sure you line up together as one behind the other. They also have some Jet dragsters turn up at willowbank but they only run one at a time.
Crikey Shane >> At those prices, its cheaper to buy one already polished from UAS or TTZ. From memory they only charge somewhere in the region of $200 - $300 fully polished for a exchange unit. Or did your finger slip on the (1) when you typed your reply.:LOL: Cheers Mate Kerry :zlove:
I spent a total of around 8 hours on mine and the finish was pretty good once it is all buffed up 'see my post with the topic of "so it began"' for pics. To get one polished to show quality, which is flawless 'i have my 2 water pipes polished like this' costs around $700 here in melb and that is all over. It isn't hard to do yourself if you have the right tools.
