Richard, does your zed have the NA rear end? I gather from the mag article that your zed started out as an Australian delivered NA? So I guess it is a NA half shaft that broke? A TT half shaft should be tough to break.
heres an idea for you all..... put up, or shut up! John has posted his dyno figures and run a 1/4 mile time.... and it sounds like hes gonna head back and try and better his time - top stuff!! good to see someone out there competing... so far thats circuit, drift and now drags.... fantastic! a zed being USED! i couldnt give a rats ass if you have more HP than John, or anyone else on the forum.... untill you actually do something with it its fuckin useless - kinda like all this talk of 10sec zeds that lets face it... have been talked about for a while now.... you could have 500rwhp, but untill i see a time slip saying its run a 10 - you only as good as your last time.... which is what? feel free to flame me HP kings.... least ive run the time ive aimed for.... ::Risk::
So what your telling us, is that there are heaps of Zeds> in Australia, capable of 10's, and there isn't even one wacker prepared to come on here and brag about it? Why hasn't someone pointed this out before? Kind of makes the efforts of Risk, ZisLuv, Unique Zed, jpc300, and all the other tryers, a huge waste of time and money, doesn't it? Sort of like inventing the wheel, or telephone again (What about Mobile Phones, now that would be something new!)

Yes it is ON 10th of Nov I just conformed with organiser and WSID is even giving us our own lane IMPORTS ONLY. This is a first and if supported will be able to do it again. Much better than lining up behind Hectic GEMNI's or Sick Falcons. Only thing is they will be in the lane next to us and I have seen some of these bro's driving and I will be staying clear and let them go first or something. Re suspension set up we raised the front 5 mm and we figured same about rear and left it. We also softened the shocks and dialed in neutral camber in rear and will get wheel alignment before we go out on 10th. Also going to get some thin stiff type rubber or plastic and making covers around the two front air filters to create positive air pressure and stop air passin the filters and ramming through into engine bay. It will help stop lift in front end as not all air gets out of the bonnet vents, it will also allow more air to flow through intercooler and radiator. Also putting in an in line lock for the brakes so it does not load up the diff and box so hard and stuff the rear brakes. Yes Gene will have some tyres for you give us a call to see what options and sizes etc.
anyone can PAY to get a 10 sec Zed but it's another thing to do it all youself hence why I refuse to use a mechanic anymore and try to make as many parts myself so then I can say "I built a 10 sec Zed and not some mechanic". Now how many Zedders can say they have a 10sec zed that they built themselves? Certainly not me as I'm only at 13.02s and I highly doubt my Zed will get into the 10's for another couple of years.
which is why i put up the previous post... those people are out on the track, not here typing about how much hp they have etc. I agree though, ANYONE can take their car to a quality workshop and get it to run a 10 for under $30,000. A lot of people in this forum and elsewhere don't want a shop to do all their work and take credit for the run. Less talk and more time at the strip is all i can say.

drive shaft yes it was a na but the tt shafts are a 6 bolt and mine r a 5 i tried to do a few but no go i got my hands on a few spare ones so next time i will change it on track if it happens

I've had to reduce myself to hard labour to earn some cash to pay for the clutch rebuild I polished a plenum for MikeZ which paided for the clutch rebuild so I got that bastard back today. I ended up getting a 5 puk with 100% increase in clamping pressure for $341 - the credit card is maxed out and the bank account was zero so I couldn't afford a nice twin plate one. I'm still waiting on a slackarse friend to fill up the gas bottles for the oxy to finish off the engine bay but he's busy getting his knob polished these days. So I may have to go and rent some gas bottles to finish it. The neighbours complained about me running the air compressor late at night so I can't do die grinding too many hours when I get home. Kinda sucks cause I need to use it to finish off the brake calipers so they can be sent off to hpc. I think they are the only things left to polish up before I can take my load of shit out to hpc. Those slackers take anywhere up to 4 weeks which I will spend the time finishing off the engine. I do have a schedule on when things will get done in my head - just that the funds dictate when I can get them done. Can you resend the lastest autocad files in autocad2000 format. Whenever you want to get that project kicking again let me know.
Ah, have you been peeking in my windows again? Careful you can get arrested for that Your right, you dont need big HP to get good times. There are 5 Z32s I know of that run 11s and they are on stock turbos still. Best is an 11.61. As you said its the quality of the run thats important. Not sure when this turned into a "race" to crack the 10s mark on 1/4 miles times. Certainly I never voiced the need to reach it before this thread and I cant say Im in the biggest hurry to either. What we have been talking about is whats required to do it and thats a minimum HP/weight ratio. Im happy that theres a big HP car coming into australia. Im sure my car wont be transformed into a tricycle though If I just wanted the highest number possible then I would just choose different turbos
lol I dont think too many zedders are crazy enough to put as much love and effort into their car as you chewy. Thats going to be one crazy car when your done.
