Haha, wasn't the most constructive post I must admit.

This was my review of the traction control system that I replied to Jamie with. All well and said that you can control everything with your right foot, yes I agree. Right foot is everything.

However, I daily my car every day, 400km every week to and from work, then give it some on the weekend, heck I even given give it some going to and from work. Some days I can honestly say I zombie drive my car and in the wet, I have to say there is the 0.1% where a situation arises where you find comfort in having the traction control on in the wet just to help you out. It is a luxury item yes, you would defintely spend your money on othre things such as suspension and tyres way before you even consider the traction control.

Who cares about constructive? It had just the right amount of irony for my tastes...

Suspension and tyres are already planned. Wanting to run Tein Streets (have heard flex's are far too hard for the street?) and an EDFC. Have currently got whiteline swaybars, will be replacing most of the stock suspension bits with aftermarket products. Hoping to run at least 295 rears and 275 fronts if I can fit them.

    275 fronts? Why?

    Meant 265's lol

If you can get 275 to fit up front why not? I run 285 all round.

If I did enough kms to worry about tyre wear this is totally what I'd be doing, and at least rotating front to back (assuming directional tread) with every oil change

Will give it a shot then.

Your car looks like a hotwheels toy with the tyres poking out :p

    Wow... just, wow.

This is a Build thread, not a place where people come to in-depth discuss (although it seems more like bitch, bicker and bullshit) the pros & cons of installing a system into a car. Take your shit to Z-Related, and start a 'Traction Control' thread if you're that damn passionate about it. Seems everyone put in their 2 cents worth already which is all that would be required in a Build thread... (with 2 certain clowns seemingly have thrown in 5 bucks by now. You idiots should know who you are). Just give it a rest.

...I'm not even going to mention the excessive and extremely unnecessary personal attacks towards Jamie.

Well, coming back from that little detour... as I said to you the other night mate, I am pretty much equal parts skeptical and optimistic. It definitely seems like an interesting bit of equipment after all I read about it, but I just personally have no experience driving with something like this so don't feel right about swinging for or against just yet. I'd be keen to come up one weekend and help install it if you're doing it at home. In the meantime I shall reserve my final opinion... until I get to drive it. ;)

    Cheers,
    Emile

    Thanks Emile.

Hoping to do the installation at home, so you're more than welcome to help with installation and giving it the first test :)

I guess I should probably update this! Engine is finally out and completely stripped back. You'd think it would be an easy job with a hoist, right? Wrong. Emile decided he'd use odd bolts for everything and the build consisted of about 20kgs of goo sealant. Just kidding Emile, wasn't that bad :p Better than it being held together with cable ties like Andy's old Z ;)

Apologies for the ordinary photo's guys, promise i'll get my SLR over there someday soon.

As you can see, there's significant damage to both the bearings and the pistons. Rings weren't gapped properly, bearing clearances are HUGE and wait for it, there were no oil squirters in the block, nor were they blocked off at all. So based on this and the blocked oil galleries, it's fair to say why I was having oil delivery issues. This is not at all Emile's fault, nor do I hold him responsible for it or have any hard feelings towards him. He paid someone to do a job and well they simply just didn't do it. This means i'll need a rehone and some larger pistons, along with the expected bearings and rings.

    Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus.

May as well replace those turbos too. Sell me your old ones?

Sure, all I'm asking is a set of roof racks, your wing and for you to do all the labor on my wire tucking.

Edit: oh and that stupid steering wheel :p

Will trade roof racks for turbos

I can't believe someone can screw up and engine build like that. Pure "not giving a ****ness". Too many mechanics like that these days.

Good luck on the new build
