Great potential for snack food money lol,

    Look after it or else!

Me and rob will be seeing you shortly ;p

Good to see you did your homework and like I told you, yeah it hurts your bank account but you fall IN LOVE with a car you build

Just took photo's, but my computer is rooted. Will get some off of the iPhone and upload them.

It'll be snack food for most of you guys. I'll be staying away from you, Rob, BB and Ron. Will hang with the cooler kids like Logan and Trent if he ends up moving down :p

You will indeed, about another 5 weeks and the engine will be coming out. That's also around the time that tax will be coming back, hoping to throw the $2.5k that i'm expecting straight into getting the engine rebuilt/refreshed.

There's pro's and con's about this car. Fair enough it's going to take a lot of work as Emile found a new love and Jordan was slightly neglected. But i've found that doing it this way I can do it in my own time and have no time restrictions. If I converted the NA it would have been a whole lot more time consuming and more than likely $$ consuming too.

Great platform to begin with, Jamie. So the TwinZ gear is days away from arriving. Do you have a priority list of what things will be done first etc?

You fall in love (hate) with a car you build yes, not buy

Thanks Jono, I agree. Plus it has a few rare goodies that I intend on keeping.

Who knows when the TwinZ gear will arrive, could still be a few more weeks before I get the items into my greedy hands.

Quite honestly, there isn't a solid plan set in concrete. There is so much to do on this car that it's basically impossible to do so. The main focus at the moment is the engine. The car won't be driven regularly so there's no use in the respray being done until the final stages as the paint will only deteriorate.

    - Engine+Transmission pull ~ 5 weeks away
    - Engine Disassemble, clean it up, re-ring, reco of heads and if necessary replace pistons (absolute extreme case there)
    - Engine Reassembly
    - Drop engine and gearbox back in

I'm really expecting the engine rebuild to be a quick process thanks to tax time, looking to have it completed within a month of pulling the engine. Wether that happens or not is a different story as i'm dealing with a Z here and we all know how notoriously wrong things tend to go.

Trying not to jump the gun here Mike, but was that a low blow directed at me? Fair enough I didn't buy all the engine components, but i'll be rebuilding this car from the bottom up.

    This.
I may have bought a high powered zed, but I am doing all the body work and interior over the next year, and once I finish uni and get into a stable job, the motor will be out for a full rebuild + upgrade.
It may not have started out as a stock zed, but almost every aspect will be changed

Not aimed at anyone, just saying (imo) modifying a car is about getting your hands dirty (and bloody). Not writing cheques ;)

Hitting stuff with hammers and having stuff fight back creates a bond.

most will know what I mean, those who argue different are not modifiers.

Too easy, I agree with that. Hell I'd even cop that title if I bought something like Robs car and did nothing with it, but that's far from the case here.

LOL, it was a low blow at me :p

It's cool if you have the cash to build a monster, but if you can snag one for less than the price it would cost to build the engine, then I don't see the drama.

Granted, I'd LOVE to build a car with no expense spared, but I am not in a position to do that.

I should make a thread about my nugget, seeing as she is gunna be mine for a long time :p I like this car a lot man and I think it's awesome that you have so long to work on it, should be sweet when you're able to drive it.

Thanks champ, one of the few people that sees reasoning in me buying a TT so early.

haha, i see why you're doing it, because I did the exact same thing.... granted, it was a turbo nissan exa i was building :p
but that is also why I tried to talk you out of it, because I did the exact same thing :p

Then again, I did it again... but with 4 1/2 months to wait this time, not 2 years haha

I'm sure ill regret it at times, had a moment today where I thought I'd bitten off more than I can chew. Ill get through it though, I'll be more satisfied in the end.

I've built mine from pretty much stock, I regret it everytime I go to withdraw $$$ from my bank haha XD.

In saying that I forget it the second I hear her purring ok and burry my right foot to the floor.

Shame Emile never got the thing dyno tuned

Yeah mate, bought brand new from UAS.

Power wise I'd be disappointed if it made less than 350rwkw, would be over the moon if it cracked 370rwkw or more.
