The point I'm trying to make is if you drive your car within your abilities and to suit the conditions, it doesn't matter if you have 1000hp.

I have 480 at the wheels, my car spins those wheels until the car's at around 100kmh. Do I need traction control to keep my safe? No.

I need common sense, ie: don't snap gears in high boost in populated areas with a shitload of things/people to hit, don't drive outside your own personal limits in an uncontrolled environment (if you can't work out where you are pushing yourself to the limit and you're at risk of crashing, you shouldn't be driving a high powered car anyway).

Yeah, they get tail happy for sure, but if you can't hold onto it in a straight line coming off a set of lights and have to take off in second in an N/A, you might want to consider becoming a prius owner?

You say you don't want your boost controller set to flaccid. I said have multiple settings, my low boost setting is 320rwkw, my high boost is 360. I could have another one set to gate pressure, but I feel no need for it. I merely thought that Jamie might like to have that option so he could learn how his car behaves without a million kw taking over and overwhelming him.

A traction control system that cuts fuel doesn't teach you how to drive your car. It lulls you into a false sense of security, limits the cars potential and teaches you the opposite of something very important in high powered cars and bikes, throttle control. That sounds a bit flaccid to me when compared to having a bunch of different boost settings, where only ONE really limited power (would be good for driving around town anyway).

    Lmao. See above.

This. I rape my car and it is far from being scary or difficult to control.

What I'm telling you is that I have faith in your ability to control your right foot and that you don't need a system to keep you safe.

If you want antilag for the drag strip, then fine. The other stuff is completely unnecessary though and I doubt you'll actually need it to keep you from kissing a power pole.

Not putting shit on you at all. Just saying if you're aiming for 400kw it'll be fast and crazy and all that sorta shit, but it's not like jumping in the cockpit of a fighter jet with no flight experience.

In saying that man, traction control isn't always going to be on. Plus you can adjust how much slip you want. There's nothing stopping me from driving it, learning how to control it and then having a play with traction control.

No. If I can drive faster than the majority of the traffic and manage to keep under 3000rpm the whole time then I'd say you aren't driving to the conditions. It's people like you who give us all a bad name.

I meant in the wet, sorry to cause confusion. I can see how i would look like a dick if that was happening in the dry :p

must you always mention that its the
    ?

Everyone here is telling me im a dick for my driving and wanting traction control, so maybe i should make it abudantly clear: im talking about wet weather conditions with a new engine i will not be used to. Im not a complete braindead moron like you all seem to think, i know how to drive (both wet and dry). Im simply stating that if you put your foot down in the wet you can easily slip out and this risk gets amplified if you are in a car you arent experienced with. If i want to use a traction control so i can enjoy my ride in the wet while minimising potential for an accident so be it. Especially seeing as i would be buying the unit primarily for the launch control aspect.

The same applies to jamie, if he wants to use a launch control/traction control unit get off his case and let him, its his car not anyone elses and at the end of the day the only persons opinion that really matters is his.

I can see why you might think im a dick driver for chirping the wheels in the dry, thats my fault for not specifying that i was referring to wet weather. Calling me a "complete wanker" wasnt a classy move, nor was it necessary regardless of what you may have thought i meant. You realise its people like you who jump straight into name calling and other childish crap that makes valued members like eric (a2zed) get up and leave, right? Its not needed dude.

Sorry to derail your thread like that jamie. Ill try not to do it again.

Yeah mine did that, with bald tyres......and a brass button clutch for like a moment....you need new tyres not traction control.
    Because it is lol

Your tyres wouldnt spin in first in the wet without a brass button clutch? Pfft sounds like you need a new engine. My tyres are fine thankyou very much :p

Lol haboubz leh I had to come out of hibernation for this ridiculous piece of self stimulated masturbation.
Who are you lying to? Yourself? Or everyone else on here that drive the same car as you and know what you just said is a total crock.

I have 250rwk, bald as anus tyres and a button clutch and I still don't wheelspin 1st in the wet... unless I want to.

Sure you haven't got a vtec transplant?

Are you serious man? Im actually beginning to think you are all taking the piss outta me here... i genuinely do not believe your wheels do not spin in the wet if they hit the white line.

    Swear im losing it...

Im not trying to kid anyone lol i know my lemons slow as hell. Im just genuinely amazed that noone here has accidently squeaked their tyres going across the white line at the lights. Im calling bullshit right there.

Tyres are made for the wet. Otherwise they'd have no grooves called "tread"... It's always your fault if you spin them.

Maybe you just need another stint on your L plates cuz.

Ill actually pay that. Just another case of heavy handed acceleration i guess.

Probably wouldnt happen if i had traction control lol

Dude, my car spins 285's up to 100 in the dry if I want it to. I've driven the same car in the wet (it's my daily) and I've never accidentally span the tyres.

You don't accidentally spin tyres unless you've got ****in' parkinsons disease or something and your foot stabs the throttle involuntarily, or you're a COMPLETE idiot who can't drive at all.
