To be honest crispy, without proper breathing mods (like black beast) I don't think the GTX will make much difference over gt28RS unless over 25psi.

Also Trent, I don't think his winging his just trying to suss out a idea how his car will perform as I know Jamie wanted a reliable street car with some bite.

But really, there's a fine line with power and response .

He made a sad face when people told him it would be laggy. Sure it's noticeable, but it's not the end of the world. It's not like you sit there for 10 seconds before anything happens, lol.

I was just trying to cheer him up, lol.

Lag is not a concern for me with this car, I'm quite confident that ill be making boost by 3-3.5k rpm.

It is a fine line, I've got a good feeling that Emile has found it in this car though.

Was more a sad face that they were claiming that 2530's were the same as 2860RS.

I was meant to tke you in mine wasn't I Jamie!! You never asked,

You will be making boost by 3 but you won't be saying "holy frogging Jesus" until about 4200.

Yeah, you seemed a bit distracted anyways  :p

Ill hold you to it at the dyno day but.

Sounds about right to me, will hopefully find out within the next 3 months.

very nice pickup, seems pretty cheap too. Where'd you find the aragosta's?

They came out of a Zed that I parted out. Previous owner was Andymac, bought his car and got plenty of goodies off of it. Profited quite well too, considering the purchase price was only $2k.

Why are Aragostas so highly regarded, Tim?

They just appeal to me. Euro shocks but not as expensive as ohlins, etc but still with excellent reputation. Used in plenty of motorsport applications too. Start at around $3500 new

    A bit of an update...

Things are going a tad slower than I expected. My engine builder has decided to buy a hoist, upgrade to a two car garage, buy a flow bench, sandblasting equipment and ceramic coating equipment. We won't be starting my build until they're all setup (for obvious reasons, it'll benefit me greatly and make our job far easier). Hoping to start on the Z around September, possibly later depending on how fast/slow things come together.

    In the mean time, I've had spare money laying around... The Z got a little spoilt with the following;

TwinZ rear bar with integrated diffuser
    TwinZ foglight ducts
    TwinZ side skirts
    TwinZ front lip
    TwinZ roof wing

A little something to help slow her down...

That's about it for now... Have been carefully discussing ideas with my engine builder - this is going to be a killer engine by the time i'm done with it. Nothing in comparison to all the expensive bits on Rob260's car (though won't be too far behind in power) or Black Beast's car.

What'd his last dyno run read, Procky? :p

Unless he of course goes back for a more aggressive tune. I'm not talking about his peak power, more the power that he's running now.

GTX dont really make alot more outright power, but they do spool alot faster with their lighter billet compressor wheel

    Yup!

They still make significantly more power (10-20kw on bavk to back testing without a retune), and they stay efficient at a higher boost level compared to the GT range.

*cough* do you guys forget I have these? Lol

I'd love to do some back to back testing here but I don't find I'm spooling faster or making more power then a same set up on 28rs

What we did find though is they were surprisingly more responsive when dialling in higher boost then traditionally seen with 2860
