Good point and I did not think about this one as another specialist independent person re this discussion. They are made by Micks Metalcraft which is a large well know specialist intercooler workshop in Sydney. Made exclusive for us he also makes our front mounts. He has not done tests but built or prepared many drag cars and it is his specialist professional of many years experience. Independent specialist. 02 9755 7137. Ask him which he thinks is best from a theory and physics, and experience point of view. I just spoke with him and he confirms our FMIC is better especially with big power or those wanting the most out of their zed and willing to pay.

EGG good points and as I said it was a bit strong but not exactly first blow by me he started by miss quoting and twisting what I said and again sly, " I'd like to see it this 10 to 20rwkw from an intercooler" comment." As I said it was more an accumulation from the past and I knew where it was heading. Which it did and again down hill. Would of anyway. I won't do it again unless he does it again.

Max's Zed could do call me re this. Do you have our FMIC? Chili's car has Arias forged pistons but no probs with stock pistons with this power just not as strong if gets lean and detonates or gets hot. Forgies and rings to suit are now as cheap as stock cast pistons and rings.

lysergic good find. I had a read of some of the posts and question mark on a few things one being different days, USA dyno's ? Best to do on same day and the quicker the better and more accurate especially if dyno software and equip not the best. They are not well known for technology in this area. This is why so many Dyno Dynamic and Dyno Pac Aussie and NZ made Dyno's sell over there. I get some USA motor sport equip, tools and products magazines which are impressive although I notice a dyno advertised with one big single roller, crude dangerous looking thing. It is the software and design that makes them accurate or inaccurate. Also not much in the way of aftermarket computers, most come from, guess where Australia. Motec, Autronic, Haltech, Microtech and more. Turbo Smart and Turbo XS both Aussie companies and both we have been involved with from the start, actually we have an ex employee in each of these companies, which are now very big and most of their business is USA as not much over there in this area either. TXS also do plug in computers for EVO's and Rexies over in USA. Don't get me wrong Stillen is huge, I have been there and other companies but for such a BIG country not so much. Stillen use Spearco core and are very good product.
Now when it comes to pistons, intercooler cores Spearco and others are very good but not all. I don't know anything about the Z1 or Apollo ones. So if testing was right which has a ? Mainly due to different day and not sure how repeatable and duplicatable the dyno they use was. If it was or not much out then must be the intercooler core or design, maybe stainless pipes not as good as the corner mounts. Not all front mount intercoolers would be better than corner mounts I am sure. Keep in mind just changing intercoolers and doing a run or two may only be a few rwkw in it on some cars. The power is not only from cooler temps and better bang and pushing the piston down harder but also more timing as cooler temps allowing a few degrees of advanced timing can make 5 or 10 rwkw or more depending on the car and power it makes. I don't have figures even general handy but someone may have input here as a reference and general rule of thumb re timing and power?
Again why do some of these workshops recommend upgrade to FMIC with big hp zeds? Some don't, some don't have the option like we didn't a few years back. Maybe because there are side effects and added cost such as larger radiator and vented centre panel, but a must if going big hp. Big hp generally speaking needs big intercooler, with big air flow, good design and good core, and smooth flowing.
As for results or facts although general, anyone out there with 270rwkw or more Dyno Dynamics or over 300rwkw Dyno Pac hub dyno, with stock turbos with corner mounts? Shifters zed with FMIC does. If there is how does it go after about twenty runs on the dyno even with two fans, what are the intake temps like? Hot.
Vertical core FMIC we will also show to be a better option although more fabrication and cost. We will hope to have this available in near future.

No i dont have a UAS FMIC, i just wanna test the difference between stock SMC and a UAS SMC, to see how much of a difference it would make. It can be a good indication of how "another stage" can increase rwKW.

As I'm (thankfully) not involved in this "bun-fight", can I suggest that banning anyone "for life", might turn out to be "cutting off ones nose, to spite ones face", in other words, that action could well turn around and bite the "banner" on the butt (and, do immeasurable damage to this forum, at the same time.)
All of this rubbish could have been avoided, if my request to have my original thread deleted, had been actioned by one of the moderators.
