Thanks Cam :), don't be jealous though. It's taken me 6 years to get it to this point (and i'm still not done with it yet).

Your Zed is coming along too, don't forget - you've got the dishy 19's already, body kit, strong engine, etc... Just need to give it a "proper" paint job and it'll be tough as nails! :zlove:

they look tough as. just the way rims should be, fat, dished and flush with the guards. not enough people in aus are concerned with offsets it makes a huge difference to the cars look. top work mate :zlove:

sorry but in these pics it looks to me that there is some stretch. esp when the wheel appears to be further out than the tyre even when the tyre has a rim protector its still further out. and there seems to be some gutter rashes aswell, benny get the lips redone shouldnt cost much at all and will look like brand new wheels  + some fatter tyres

Yeah Chad, there is some very mild stretch on them. But only mild. Front's are 235's on a 9" rim (ideal is 245). Rear's are 275's on a 10.5" rim (ideal is 285). So only 1 tyre size below ideal size, which is perfectly fine :)

As i said in an earlier post, i will be going 295's on the rears next time i replace them, but i'll need to get adjustable lower control arms at the same time to pull the hubs in 10 or 15mm to fit them under the guards.
Fronts are as fat as i'll fit, so they'll stay 235's which i'm fine with.

If rear is 10.5, ideal tyre is actually 295 for it :p 285 next size down, 305 next size up :)

And for the front 255 is the deal on a 9 inch rim :p

That's what I was thinking too...

    I though 275 was about right for a 9.5"

    Nope:
    265 ideal for a 9.5"
    275 ideal for a 10"
    285 ideal for a 10.5"

But you can safely go 1 size bigger or smaller than the ideal "middle" size.

This is from a tyre sizing search engine for a 285 tyre. Wheel width range between 10 & 11". ...so 10.5" is smack in the middle.

    Well that's quite clear isn't it? :p

On both sets of wheels I have I am running a 285 tyre on 9.5" rear rim. They fit fine

Yep, they'll fit but just have a little bit of bulge. I've seen 295's on a 9.5" rim, but that's pushing the limits on that rim size, not what you'd call ideal.

    AndyMac Better than you

No-ones mentioned profile at all...I think the numbers your quoting Ben as the ideal tyre size is possibly for a higher profile. 245 as the size of choice for a 9" rim seems a size small as most manufactures put a 255/40 on a 18x9" wheel. Porsche put 285/35/18 on their 10" rim from factory, so 295/35 would be a good ideal fit for a 10.5" rim.

It's a mute point though, they look hot :D

Thanks Andy. And you're right, it is quite a moot point too as there's no real rule as to what you can and can't put on what size rim, just as long as it's not dangerous i guess.

Your example of the Porsche 10"rim coming factory with a 285 on it is good, because the 350Z that came with the Track V2 wheels came with 19x10" with a 275 tyre on it as standard. So they're both obviously acceptable tyre sizes for the same width rim.

Thats what I was getting at, since they are 19's I was figuring what profile he'd be running 30 / 35 so thats why I worked out 295 for 10.5" is the perfect size, exactly like you said different profile different case entirely

I got 275 on my 9.5 inch rim and it fits perfectly, 245 on my fronts and they are 8's fit perfectly , that's even what the shop recommended anyway's before I even worked it out myself (just to confirm they were right)
