Your car always looked stunning, but at the same time I can't stand those double 3 spoke wheels so to me it looks a whole lot better again :D

    Cheers!

Looks awesome Benny,:D:D it looks like there is no stretch on the rear tire at all. I thought it would have been noticiable with a 275/30 on a 10.5" rim.

I would like to see pics of the rears guards with the wheels off as i am in the same boat as you, mine are 19x10" +30, actually you were one of the members who said it wouldn't fit lol. :)
I would just like to see exactly how much it has been rolled and from where to where 10-2 o'clock i assume on the wheel arch.???

An idea that came into my head the other day was to cut an incission into the lip with a hacksaw blade just after where the rear bar bolts on and at around 2 o'clock postion.
I think this would make it much easier to roll the guards, what are peoples thoughts on this as i will be doing this soon before i spray my car?
Or should i just stick to the traditional way of rolling the guards and not make and cuts?

Once again looks tops Benny :zlove::zlove:

  10. Benny_C

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

The ideal size tyre for a 10.5" rim is a 285, so i'm only 1 size under being a 275. Therefore there's no real stretch at all, and it doesn't show either :)

...And, very good point regarding rolling the rear guards!!!

The answer is a YES to cutting into the seam with a hacksaw! That is exactly what i did. When you roll the guards, it does the job fine for the whole way from where you said "10-2" - except where that seam is where the rear bumper bolts to the fender. I actually got my hack saw blade out and cut right along the edge of it where it bends in. Then that allowed me to give it a love tap with my hammer to fold the two sides in over top of themselves (if you know what i mean).
Then once they were folded in really tight, i took to that seam with my angle grinder to grind it back, right up to where the first bolt is that holds the bumper on.

If you pull the wheel off and have a look under there this may (hopefully) make more sense.

Thanks for the comments, and good luck! If you get them tight enough, they will fit! As you pretty much have the same outside seating position as me with my 10.5" +35. So it can be done! :)
(btw, what size tyre are you running? and what camber? - as these will also have a large bearing on whether they will fit)

    Benny,
Those wheels have transformed the car. I bet you wished that you had got them before the calander photos now!

Fantastic looking ride man. Great job.

I prefer them, Benny. Wouldn't be practical, but I'd love to see it an inch or so lower all round :p

lol, i'd like to see it a bit lower aswell Jonno! But like you said, not practical. I have enough issues getting up driveways and speedbumps as it is! (as i'm sure you do aswell ;)

Well BiGZ, you can have them if you like, i'll be putting them up for sale in the coming week or so. :zlove:

Nice rims mate, just got some Enkei's myself, but the lighter version ones, have fun with 19's they look nice but cops love them as a defect magnet :p (reason I stuck to 18's lol)

But again  for looks, also agree on Kumho KU31's its what I got on my wheels I'm selling now, push it to the limits and they still grip, and wear is FANTASTIC.

So you did several cuts along the lip on the guard then folded back? Then also grinded it back? I have thought of grinding it as well though i thought it wouldnt be the best as there are several spot welds holding the inner and outter guards together.
Im prety sure i understand what you mean as the guard is circular where you cut it, one part would have to be folded over the other. :)

Im just trying to find out all that i possibly can before i do anything as once its done there is no going back, and i certainly dont want to pump the guards as i love the factory look. Are your guards pumped at all?

As for my setup rears are 19x10" +30 with a 255/30/19, i should have gone 265/30 at the time. Only reason for this stretch is that my guards are not rolled or anything like that.
Suspension is factory sagged springs n shocks, teins will be going in soon :D
