what do you guys think will be the rarest Zed and how much in the coming years i have a 2+2 manual tt jspec what will that be worth in say 10years time. there has been alot or cars stripped and parted out in the past few years so that makes the numbers drop here in Aus is it correct you cant import a z32 only for parts or track in Aus so that makes even more rare in the coming years might be a investment or it may not all in all i love me Zed :zlove:

The number of Z32's on carsales has dropped into 2 figures. While thats a good sign the value of our cars will still drop over the next few years. Around the 10 year mark we might start seeing the prices bounce back significantly as the good cars get rarer and rarer - but its all just speculation and theory for now...

Think of an old mustang and how much they are worth now?

Then think to yourself you dont have a mustang, you have a Nissan. So how much is an old Nissan worth?

But a 240/260z or a KPGC10 GTR are worth a fair bit. Ones a Datsun.
But given they are both classic and are "significant" in car history. Whereas the 300zx is just another sports car.

    Who knows.

10 years ago I could pick up a datsun 240z for free out of the local paper, pretty much any day of the week and it wasn't that I didn't want to, I was just a little young at the time to own a car.

I checked the prices for a 240Z on Carsales and it doesn't really look all that promising. They seem to be going for about only as much as a VERY well looked after Z32 does now. Limited pickings in the link supplied but you can tell that the vehicles have to have a lot of TLC, which no doubt ours will if they are to retain value. I really can't see our rides appreciating, I think they'll just fade away.

People better keep crashing at the current rate or higher, else I'm holding onto a mint one for nothing!

it is really hard to say what the market is going to do look at the old xy falcons mass produced car people thort they where worth crap all hard to pick a good example now days that needs work under 7 grand thats a standed falcon 500 if you after a Gt then look out lol but in saying that 300zx is a foreign market that might stuff the market abit.

it won't be going up any time soon... by the time it does there won't be any petrol left to run it.\

the original C10 skyline GTR is worth a lot simply because of it's domestic motorsport pedigree. it was the hero car in japan during that period and people are paying for a piece of history.

Thats another thing, its taken what... 30+ years for falcon gt's, 240z's etc to become classic and worth something... who says we're gonna even have petrol driven cars that far in the future?

come on guys screw your heads on.....

the zed is a good car to us as we are massively bias... but its not going to become a 'collectors item' price isn't going to bounce back anything like mustangs etc..

we want them to yes but in honest I don't believe they will.. there is plenty zeds around, most in average condition and the zeds are often a laughing stock of the import world....

    it aint gonna happen

    Unfortunately douchebag here is right.

Reasons cars become "collectable" is a mixute availability and significance.

Don't forget in 8 years time, the car will be 30 years old and won't be required to meet compliance regs to import, and the 300z is in no way shape or form a rare car in the world. So black mark there. They will always be readily available.

Significance...well yes it was a big change for the zed car, but similar technologies and ideas were used in cars like the SUPRA, and it was ahead of it's time in tech, but alot of that tech is now common. Unlike the 240 and 260 which were seen as the first and last of the the classic z sports car. The z32 can only been really considered the first of the modern Z cars. Unfortunately, until modern moves on to the new modern, modern classics aren't going to see the appreciation of the classic era.

    And lastly it's a Nissan...

I was looking at an RX7 convertable at the Narrabri car show.
On the outside - smart enough.
Inside - 70's dated and just looked old (albeit in great condition)

Our cars don't look dated in that way.
The Supra of the 90s is very blockish ( sharp crease lines) and again old looking dash.

The Zed was way ahead of its time and still looks good today alongside modern cars.
Bit of tweeking like alteza lights keeps it current.
Yes the price is dropping 21 year old car. SO!

I bought mine for a fun project. Gotta have something to do in my old age.
If parts are still availabe in 8years time I'll still be in. Damn things are just great fun to drive :zlove:
