    What Turbo does it have?

Do you know which model Turbo the VQ30DET and the VQ30DETT have? Is it still the 25's?

Also, where are you sourcing the engines from? Straight from Japan?

Never heard of any of those cars...lol...they sound really nerdy though... :)

And I agree, the engine looks ugly. But ti's still a worthy replacement to the VG. :zlove:

Nice work Tom...will be something to think about in the future.

    Cheers
    Rob.

The engines do come straight from Japan, they're low km and look nice and new. It's funny everyone says they look ugly but once you get the manifold, valve covers and timing covers polished, it looks HORNY AS!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure on the exact turbo, it's a garrett with a T3 flange. A lot bigger than a T25 that's for sure. It'll easy push out 350rwhp with a boost up. And there was never a VQ30DETT made, only a VQ30DET (which I think it better anyway).

Oh and the cedric, glorias and cimas are more like pimp daddy cars, not nerdy ones. :)

tom, i assume you do a full comp test with these engines...also, is it advised that a plenum pulls is done before throwing them in?

these engines arent that much newer than the vg....maybe a few years after the vg was developed for the z32, these came out didnt they?

still, if you ended up doing a drive in drive out job....for less than 5k (quoted)...your going to get alot of business me thinks

there is a VQ30DETT man, just can't buy one off the shelf since it was a race engine used in super GT.

5k still seem s too cheap to me, a drive in drive out replacement VG30dett can easilt run to 3500 to 4000. how cana conversion be done for 5?

i cant see it happening. those engines sell for at least 2500 bucks

    2500 for a full conversion???

and a remove and refit is usually worth 1k anyway.

I did say I'd like to make it around that price... I'll have to wait and see how we go with the end result.

We hope to have some more progress pictures available soon. :)
