There is no 4th gear......

in an OS Giken gearset because top gear is direct drive so no change in ratio is necessary. You MUST use your oem 1:1 gear.

IMHO the zed should have had these ratios from the factory :zlove: but the drag racers amongst us would probably hate 1st gear

Not so tall if you've got the Leader diff gears even if they are still sitting on the dining room shelf.

The 5th gear ratio reduces top speed even further than just having the Leader gears, but with those ratios I'm sure the Z would punt around a circuit very nicely. This would be where having a second diff housing with a stock TT ratio could be handy.

Unfortunately this gearset will have to stay on the "Things I would love to have but my pockets aren't deep enough" list.

If you run the leader diff gear it will cancel out the longer legs of the OS Giken gearset anyway, so what would be the point

Your overall gearing in 1st, 2nd & 3rd would be nearly identical to a stock TT except is has cost you over $4K in parts plus fitting

Personally, I can't see any benefit in the leader diff gear unless you frequent the quarter mile. A TT produces more than enough torque to pull longer gearing everywhere except the 1st 60 foot at the drags

 

Just drive one and you'll see.

 

I was joking. If Street can "divide" the gears on the gearbox to divvy out, I'd be very impressed.

not true for circuit. I have the leader diff gears, but am finding 3rd gear is too tall for exiting corners, 2nd gear is too short, and would benefit hugely from a taller 2nd gear to get out of turns quicker. I lose easily 0.5 of a second if not more because of turbo lag exiting one of the turns at QR.

 

Go back to a TT diff....

because using an OS Giken 2nd gear with the leader diff will give you an almost IDENTICAL overall ratio to a stock TT, as will 1st & 3rd.

If you want to keep 1st & 3rd short you might investigate the possibility of fitting just an OS Giken 2nd gear while still retaining the leader diff

........I have just been informed that there are only 4 of these Close Ratio Gear Sets left from OS Giken, and there will not be any more produced Two orders are coming in, that leaves 2

......just had more information The kit can be ordered with just the first three gears, OR with just the 5th gear. I am waiting on prices

AND, there are only 4 sets left of the full kit available from my regular supplier..... I am trying to source others that will supply the first 3 gears or the 5th gear at the right price of course
