In NSW .... .... from learner to full licence There are seven steps from a car learner licence to a full licence. The seven steps are:1/Pass the Driver Knowledge Test (DKT) - get your learner licence. 2/Hold your learner licence at least six months for drivers under the age of 25. Complete 50 hours minimum driving practice (log book records the driving experience). 3/Pass the Driving Ability Road Test (DART) - progress to a Provisional Licence - stage 1 (P1 licence). (Red P Plates) 4/Hold your P1 licence for a minimum of 12 months. 5/Pass the Hazard Perception Test - progress to Provisional Licence - stage 2 (P2 licence).(Green P Plates) 6/Hold your P2 licence for a minimum of 24 months. 7/Pass the Driver Qualification Test (DQT) - progress to a full licence.P1 has 90Kph restriction, .02 B/Alc, light trailers and more P2 has 100Kph restriction, .02 B/Alc(with conditions)can't supervise learners etc.Driving in NSW with Vic Ps, think you would have to obey Vic restrictions but that is not a legal opinion!! (that's after Chili has had you shot at the border 8( )
Geeze, you wouldnt think so.. ..when driving down the F3 with the number of P-platers over taking everyone:-0
Lol, thanks. I still don't understand... how having speed restrictions for P platers would help them be better drivers? I think that's a whole diffrn't argument though.....I can just imagine driving through NSW's next year on my P's and getting pulled over and fined for doing do 20k's over the P speed limit when really I was just following the road rules.....Intresting anywaySomething to find outShaun
Maybe... ... a case for some kind of restriction for first year but I'm not convinced that restricting to less than speed limit for 3 years is a good thing... might actually lead to frustration and cause behavior that White Ant talked about in an earlier post!Good luck and stay safe in NSW
Sometimes its just impractical to> do 100 on the motorway. I mean come on, doing 100 and getting tooted and overtaken by some supposedly mature drivers with their full liscence isn't exactly fun.Yeah i agree, there are dickheads with P plates that give the rest of us a bad wrap. But why should i have my turbo car taken from me when i haven't done anything wrong? I doubt that taking a turbo away from a a p plater would do anything to curb the road tolls. Maybe the government should palce a ban on testosterone and adrenaline, i think then we would see a significant drop in fatalities.
the law states flywheel power..there is - > also an engine capacity per unit weight limitation in vic even if u meet power to weight restrictions. The NA z meets both of these and the TT does not meet the power to weight limitation.(just)Cheers DSZX
P platers and Zeds i am on my p's (green) they had to dissect the system to allow me my RIGHT to get a truck licence. i waited for 3 hours at the RTA whilst they changed the system to allow my licence to read "MR P2" anwyayi have had 2 at fault crashes, both in Ford Falcons. my zed was tail ended, and i dont intend scratching it for ANY reason. i think having a car so precious, valuable and powerful makes me more aware of my condition. i have also given up drag racing as i get my blacks in a week.Kris
