Hey guys, I'm having the worst time trying to figure out what model Z32 I have... The problem is when I bought it, the ad said it was a 1991 model, then when I got the rego papers, it says its an 89 model and the body type is a sedan. No idea how that can be the case, but anyway, I got the VIN number and stuff, its a 17-digit code, right? Looking at that, and the tech section about trying to find the actual build year of the car, I can't find a match in there at all. In fact, I can't even find anything close to the VIN number I'm looking at. So thats scary. I know its a J-spec, because the seatbelts are on the doors and behind the sun visor, and under the bonnet, all labels are in Japanese, and the VIN number and other info about the car is on a little metal plate above the radiator, so I think I'm pretty safe in thinking its a J-spec, but I'm just confused as to what year model I have. Any ideas how I can figure it out?
Open boot Pull off plastic panel behind rear tail lights. Look at date stamps on the back. If it reads newer then 1989, you have a year model 'around' that date.
Ok then, will try that tomorrow... so its the middle panel in the boot, behind the lights, right? I just don't want to register the car later and get told "Hey wait a second, that car isn't a sedan"...
post up a pic of the build plate. either way, 89 or 91 it's pretty much exactly the same anyway. there were no changes in Jspecs between those years.

There aren't any sedans, regardless. All zed's are either coupe's or convertible. Further than that, in the coupe, there are two roof options: Targa Top or Fixed roof (which we call slicktop). So, you have a coupe or a convertible (which is still a coupe btw). Basically, Coupe = 2 doors. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coupé Also, post up your VIN and someone with FAST will tell you the manufactured year (and original options).

Not that i'm awear of (never had to check to be honest, so haven't tested ), I think i only have the Jap, US and Euro files, but if you have your VIN, post her up and i'll check for you :zlove:...
