Today I wired in a head-unit, replacing a shit-tonne of dodgy JB-style solder and crimp joints. All Nicely soldered and heat-shrinked now.

Also installed a new windscreen cowl which has been in storage for aaages. (A2Zed's first GB  )
Tip for young players: when installing those 'christmas tree' style trim clips (the ones with all the ribs that just press in), I suggest heating them a little with a lighter to make them more compliant during install.

Aslo sold my S2 NA slicktop to ryZan. Hope you enjoy it mate. Many adventures were had in that car, she has been a faithful steed :zlove:

My new inverter came today with the independent dimmer switch.

I hooked it all up and turned on the dash... nothing happened and i was so shattered. I switched the back wires around hoping it was a pos/neg issue. Turned it on again and NOTHING.....then i turned the dimmer switch all the way to the other side and BINGO!

Great thing about the EL panel is theres no hotspots :D

New HID kit (ballasts yet to be placed)

Yes, as you have sold me on the idea.
Yours look great and I was planning on doing some EL work regarding side shades.

Thanks for the link I'll check it out later. I have a dog pen to clean out before Narrabri trip.

Yea. The inverter i got has 8 sequential plugs. I only needed 6 for the dash so i have 2 spare. I might run 2 ELs off it with a cutout and make some "300zx" 1/4 window illuminations :)

considered turning parts car rear end into a trailer.
Ideas to do this. Not just no no... :)
Where to cut, shape, and materials.
Not committed to doing this right now just tossing around ideas.

Today I continued to clear out the parts stash and install bits onto the TT. Remaining parts are a set of JWT R4+ cams, Tomei / S2 OE cam gears and a AEM wideband... Workin' on it.

    UAS strut brace
    [IMG]
Had issues with the fuel delivery / return rail, and needed to use the punch to push the rail into a more compliant position. Still have clearance issues at the hose to rail connection, which will likely wear thru unless I can devise a better method...

Also fit cut sections of the fuel hose sheath onto the new fuel hose I fitted, so that it won't wear thru on the strut brace over time (where it passes thru).

    'Stealth' Air guide
Fitted my trusty old air guide to the z, which comes up OK. Only Issue I can see long term, is that it covers the vehicle VIN and compliance plate. Meh, If it comes to it, I'll likely get booked for much more worse things (Looks at you, AndyMac)

Modified Radiator brackets for 43mm twinpass radiator
    [IMG]
For years, I have had this radiator, and most of that time, it has been secured with a cable tie on one end, and a different modified radiator mount on the other...
So By cracking out the grinder, deburring with a dremel, and cutting up some spare conveyor belt rubber I had laying around, this is a pretty nifty mod for securing the radiator. I'll whip them off and paint them at some stage (probably in another 2 years, lulz), most likely matte black, as seems to be the theme for this car.

I still have 'murdered out' rear tail lights for sale. Check my FS thread out HERE
