[VIC] EOI for Aus week BBQ

Is anyone interested or available to meet up at Lilydale Lake on Sunday the 27th of Jan for a Zedders Australia week lunch?
It will be a cater and cook for yourself deal as this is the easiest.
This will also mean BYO chair as Lilydale lake is a popular venue and I imagine if the weather is nice it will be busy.
A cruise could also be organised from the Stamford Hotel, cnr of stud and wellington rd to Lilydale Lake.
Does anyone live in the area that could go down and sit on a BBQ for the morning?
Just putting it out there, if people have already organised other things, maybe next year.

DOH........just read my email.........friends of ours are going away overseas to work for a few years & the 27th is their farewell get together!

Question

Since this post was an EOI, is it still EOI or set in stone as confirmed. Even on a good day, I think if we leave for Lilidale lake early, we should be able to grab good spots.

 

Hey..

..what's it like at Lilydale Lake, can the kids swim in it, heaps of space, is it in the hills or somewhere near Lilydale??
I've been through there a couple of times and been to the airstrip (nice straight road out there ...hee hee hee) but I don't remember seeing a Lake.
Could I get a Melways ref maybe??

It looks like we are going ahead, I would suggest we meet there about 11am so we can talk cars etc and then set up for lunch.
However if it is freezing cold or pouring with rain, check the forum the day before as I may post cancellation.
We may have to wait for a BBQ but I am sure most will find something to amuse themselves.....
If someone brings a cricket set, please make sure the ball is a tennis ball (something soft), lol.
Otherwise we will see all there on the day.
I will have a better look at the map today and post a meeting point shortly.

Are we meeting at the lake or somewhere else for a drive to the lake? If not, do any of the south/south eastern suburb people want to meet up for a drive there?
