I spoke to Ray today, he's happy to take 15 cars but he'd really prefer to have 20 or more so please ask your friends to come along as the more people we get the cheaper it will be, I will be able to confirm the price closer to the day but between $40 -$50 is roughly what we'll pay.

So which of the following dates suit people (they are all saturdays btw):
    July: 19th or 26th
    August: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd

Any of those would be fine.

Why would he prefer to have more people there? I would assume he is charging out at the same rate for the day either way?

i presume that if we have 20 people it will cost us $40pp but if we have 15 people it will cost us $50pp...but 20-25 people is a good number though due to the reason that the will be definately a few drop outs which can cause some problems if we have a low number to begin with

okay so lets pencil in August 23rd. I'll make the booking with RE customs now and in a month or so I'll put up an official thread and we can start taking names of definates.

Any day is fine with me. Ill work around it.

I still say take deposits. This will entice the peopel to rock up more so and leave less drop outs. People who pull out can get money back, but will have to get abused by us all first saying 'WHY DO THIS TO US?!@@#' and so forth :)

Last dyno i organised there where over 40 people booked. We only ran 19 or so and that was after people decided 'yeah ill put it on why not...'

I would say definitely ask for deposits - but do not guarantee a refund. If, for example, 5 people commit and pay a deposit, but don't turn up. The dyno operator agrees to go ahead, but says the cost has to go up to $55 for the 15 that do turn up. That extra $75 should come from the slackers that didn't honour their commitment - that's what deposits are for. Any $$ left over could then be returned.

This happened on my last dyno day. Approx 20 people "committed" without paying deposits. Only 9 arrived, and each of us was asked to pay $20 more. It would be even worse if some guys didn't want to stump up the extra, the whole day falls flat on its face, and the operator doesn't want to know us next time.

Some people need to understand "commitment", whether it be to a dyno day, a track day, a GB ... whatever. That said there can always be genuine circumstances for not following through, but too many times the reason is "I got pissed the night before and stayed in bed", otherwise known as "ICBF".

I can't and won't commit to this dyno day as my Z still has a cracked block, but if the situation is rectified in time for me to be included, then I will add myself to the list.

I am happy to pay a non refundable deposit, if something else comes up that I really can't get out of I can either try to sell my place to another member or just grin and bear it, that's life.

deposits sound like a good idea. But everyone can write in the dyno day for Saturday August 23rd in their calendars and then look out for the coming events thread in about a months time. I'll ask for this thread to be locked now. If you have any questions you can pm me.
    Cheers
