Lol any good machinist/engineer can make these all these up in a good work shop with a matter of days.

I would never ever do a group buy just to be a 50% chance of being dis-heartened (time or money) (records speak for themselves). Before all the goody two shoes gets in and tells me to piss off, I would throw my money in products that I can actually see, or from people I communicate with alot on a forum.

Who can you really trust.. Would you trust giving the guy on the bus who you have barely met a large some of cash just because he says he can score you a good deal.

Anyways hope everyone in the group buy all gets their products soon enough..

    Thread re-opened.

Discussion on this thread is strictly for those participating.
Anyone outside of the direct and current participants will either be temporarily banned or infracted.

We have moved a lot of the posts that are surplus to requirements to this thread .
Those members who are not participating in the group buy can post there.

    The best of both worlds.
Hopefully this gets us a resolution for everybody.
A clean, easiry to navigate and read Group buy thread, and a discussion thread to bash out all the tech questions etc etc.

Just in case it was missed the first time,
Not participating, don't post in this thread

Good Greg and seems to be the best sollution. Looks like you chopped it back a bit far asdoes not have the good recent pics?
It was obvious those not involved in the GB with their riddles were not helping, and their motivations were painfully clear.

Copied from the other thread for the interest of buyers only...

So I went out to Bosenjack engineering today to have a look at these things for myself and get some up to date pics for everyone.

Tell you what they put on the best smoke and mirror show I have ever seen. Awesome workshop, very clean and well equipped. Terry is a tope bloke he took a good half an hour off to show me all the bits and pieces, draw diagrams, answer all my questions, etc etc.

But I guess you all want the pictures? For starters here is a shot showing all of the pieces made up and ready for assembly. I will save black baz the trouble and point out myself that the bits are in fact silver, not black (or paisley, tartan, plaid :D) as previously indicated. This is because the zinc coating process for black is not perfect and can result in a slightly tarnished finish. An executive decision was made to get these done sooner with the better finish than to bugger around trying to get the black finish perfect.

And this is what they look like assembled

Terry's work is far better than the prototype that was supplied. For starters the end pieces are not just welded. The large section is notched and dowl pinned, and the small piece has a ball end at the T piece so that it fits together and is then welded. See illustration below.

The parts have all been heat treated and hardened, and the arms are completely serviceable.

As discussed at some length, the fixing system now uses a cotter pin instead of a grub screw. For those that were as confused as I was, the advantage with a cotter pin is that it is a tapered thread with a nut so that it positively fixes into place and cannot come loose. The picture below shows where the grup screw was used (see red circle) in the original design.

See below for an illustration of how the cotter pin is used in the new arms. Have to stress this is not a brand new design, it's an improvement on the what Terry was originally working with.

So what's the holdup? As I mentioned before the cotter pin is tapered, so you have to drill the tapered hole before you make the pin. At the moment the guys are waiting for the tooling to turn up so that they can drill and make the pins. The remaining labour is minimal, as in less than a day to finish the set. As soon as the tool turns up we are all good to assemble.

Anyways I put a fairly significant part of an all too rare day off into this -I hope some will appreciate the effort. Should at least silence some of the propellor heads.

    Hey Trev,

mate short answer is I don't know. The tooling needs to turn up, then you drill the hole, then you make the pin (gotta drill first with a tapered hole). I will try and get an answer to this when we approach the pin making stage.

    Nearly there

I can answer that and yes, NKS Japanese top shelf bearings being used part number 6203DDU. Double sealed. I just spoke to Terry the engineer and he said they will last a long time, especially as they do not bind.

Also to clarify these arms as per all aftermarket suspension arms are sold for off road use only, as technically illegal for road use.

All machining is now complete, and bearings arrive tomorrow, and assembly next week and will be dispatching.

I didn't read the whole skyline thread, but I gathered that the skyline ones and the zx ones are the same unit?

So why are a few people going on about road versions and race versions?
    Just curious that's all.

Yeah the Skyline and Z32 are essentially the same, but the skyline has the option of running more neg camber with the "track" version.
