Sorry mate! Black cars all look the same in the little imageshack preview thumbnails... I'll fix it up!

    370z.....

The 370z's seem to be making good power. Were they stock?

    Yep -bloody impressive hey!

Be interesting to see how that Z33 turbo goes. He's running high compression turbo, having issues tuning the thing apparently.

    Yeah the numbers seem high....

A stock 370z makes what, 245kw at the engine apparently? So I would have expected a 370z to make around the 200 rwkw mark if stock. But they are making around the 230-240 rwkw on the UAS dyno, so I'd be interested in what mods they have and if any ecu tuning.... And if the UAS dyno is reading 30kw less compared to the MRC dyno, then i'm REALLY interested to know what these 370z's are running... :)

Emile (pulled 231) would be best placed to comment on what he's done to his car.

245 at the engine seems a touch pessimistic in light of how they ran, although perhaps they experience less driveline loss (carbon fibre tailshaft and upgraded clutch in Emile's case) than we expect?

I don't know but yes they all performed well, would smoke a stock and even lightly modified TT and with much smoother power delivery

    Possible...

Yeah, its possible the 245 kw figure is underestimated. Sort of like the 90's where all of Nissans cars were rated at 206kw, when in actual fact they were higher. I'm just going by the Nissan spec sheet of 245kw for the 370z. I have seen a stock 370z dynoed before, and it dynoed at 208rwkw. But of course, dynos are dynos and can read higher, lower etc etc. But yeah, being an NA, I was just curious what mods they had, if any, to reach the 230-240rwkw. For an NA, thats an impressive jump. But technology has advanced :). Either way, I love the 370z's. Great car, and would happily have it next to my Z32 in my future garage :)...

For sure. In fact after watching them, if I had a blown TT motor I would be looking at VQ37 swap as a very real alternative to rebuilding a VG30DETT with bolt on mods.

    Top Day

Great roll up, best ever. There were another three Z twin turbos there that didn't run as time didn't permit. Two we have for sale that haven.t been on the dyno yet and one customers car. Same reason The Slot Car didn't run. It requires taking undertrays off. For those wanting to know it made just over 400rwkw on 19psi, although injectors maxed out using EFlex fuel, so we turned it down to a safe 380rwkw for the track for now. Waiting for the new 1300cc injectors to come out..

To clarify the stock turbo catagory questions, it was discussed prior to the event. Stock turbo's, no high flows, otherwise anything goes. There are probably no stock turbo zeds with no mods in the country. The other conditions were no funny fuels with a 10% penalty if using E85 and a max boost of 23psi.

As for the readings being a little low. Dave entered the weather data as per normal Dyno Dynamics shootout, otherwise it may have been higher. All cars wre run the same.

Great write up Rob. Big thanks again for your efforts.

I'm not too concerned about the readings, I'm stoked with my power output considering I'm up 70kw from when I got the car! :)

Different dynos, different days, different weather etc.

Big thanks to Rob Sidaway for organising, JP for hosting, and Dave for doing the dyno runs!
Also, thank you to the companies that sponsored the event, some nice prizes were won.

I have to say, I'm a bit upset I left just before the Pajero ran the dyno... That thing is awesome

You transformed your car from a gay bling mobile to a tough streeter just by swapping out those hideous chromies :vomit:
