I ordered a kit from UAS, was at the panel beater with in 4 days with no drama.

clutches, brake lines, plenty of parts bought and never an issue...

I will continue to buy from UAS one of the only shops in aus to stock zed parts... if you guy dont want to out of spite then sure, enjoy paying extra postage for a body kit to come from overseas and lol if you think its going to be in perfect nick after an OS flight or long boat ride.

I am happy to keep it local.

I also don't blame UAS for doing what they have done when it comes to the slander on this forum... tit for tat or what ever the saying is... you dont bite the hand that feeds and then expect ice cream for desert.

bashing UAS for years, but for the life of me I can't see what they did wrong this time. Maybe some questions should have been asked before the order was placed with them. Carmate is just another word "plague" on this forum.

I have no fixed opinion on UAS but the usual practice is if you have a problem then go to the supplier first, I have actually done that myself. If that does not work then go onto a forum if you want instead of blabbing on about it without giving the supplier a chance.

was going to stay out of this whole thing having never dealt with UAS I have nothing to say about the situation, this comment above however is not accurate, a large number of electrical stores now run gimicks like "if you find the same stocked item elsewhere we will refund (insert value from 100% to 120% I have heard them both and plenty between) of the difference.

I am not saying UAS should or should not do this just that the above analogy is in fact flawed

Any cost incurred from fixing cracks in fibreglass could have been quoted by a shop and chased up if it was a significant amount from UAS. All done with hell of a lot less drama and time than this thread took.

This is exactly what several other members have suggested(and is in keeping with common courtesy and good business practice)so it is highly unlikely to get much support from certain circles.

It's good to see that there are still some ethical members on this site.

 

A moot point perhaps, but given the overall hatred of anything emanating from CarMate, I would suggest that this would be viewed as very counter-productive in marketing terms(as UAS are not obliged to advertise CarMate's business for them).

Many businesses market items manufactured and packaged under alternate names, it's not unusual in any way(have you been to Bunnings lately?).
