Title says it all, the turbo seals are rooted! 5000kms since i bought the car and they were rebuilt by last owner and i didnt even get to drive it hard thats why im annoyed! Maybe i was driving it too soft. I can't drive it at all as there is so much smoke so i will be pulling to motor eventually to do them but i don't have the time and i don't have the money to pay anyone now as i bought another car so its not going to be a rushed thing. Noting it already has 750cc injectors, big ICs, Nistune, etc. Here are my options (it will be a weekend car)

    Rebuild stock turbos
Replace turbos and manifolds for 2560R turbos
Replace turbos with 2860R and wait for the bang
Build the motor up with usual internal upgrades and use 2560R OR 2860R
    Put in LS1/2
    Put N/A motor in it
    Part it out
Sell it for next to nothing as it's broken
Let it sit til it's worth nothing then sell it for scrap

    What should i do?

Replace turbos and manifold with your turbos of choice.

First off confirm it's the turbo's, could be something worse such as holed piston. Find out where the oil is coming from first.

Exactly! Work out your issues first, did you get receipts stating he got them rebuilt or your just taking his word? If you have another car to drive and your skilled enough to work on the engine, I would do a plenum pull and everything else to the heads. That way you can check, clean, replace and service things as you go.... Rebuild the stock turbos yourself, piss easy job!!!! Then you will have a rock solid zee to play with! ;) spend some more cashola if you can :p

There are 2 big puddles of oil on the ground under each turbo since I parked it. It still boosted fine and didn't seem to be low on power. It doesn't smoke straight away it takes 2-3 mins before it smokes from a cold start (first of the day) after than that it doesn't matter just smokes regardless. Turbos or not?

Still could be either, due to the exhaust system being cold, the oil is leaking into your exhaust and thus burning and smoking in there. Did you have proof that the turbos where rebuilt?

Yes I have proof they were rebuilt. All other usual maintainence was carried out ie. plenum pull, 100k service, so on so forth.

I have a second car now and all work was suffieciently documented showing what was done. Theres no need to get into it too much. There is also the dilemma of not having anywhere to do an engine pull.....

Nah no need for an engine pull lol.... If your idle is good and runs well and by the sound of things it does then I would say that it is turbo related man

I was under the impression the motor had to come out to do the turbos?

In the exact same boat - though my trashed turbo is on the drivers side only . I have ordered the gt600r kit from z1.

Easier to change turbos out with the engine out at the same time. If you have small and dainty hands you might be able to do it with the engine in but the drivers side turbo is... a diseased female dog to get to with the engine in.

I have man-hands of a god though. At least that's what she said.

    Bahaha ^^^

I havnt got a turbo z but I could understand the difficulties here with space lol but can't you unbolt them from the manifolds?

And come on guys I replaced those stupid little heater hoses at the back of the motor with the plenum on!!!! And not the big ones it was one of the small ones that goes down!

It's possible, but it's quicker to pull the engine.

just pull the motor its easier and less hassle ay.
Also a good time to replace your wiring harness ;)

Bloody hell really!? Is that why a lot of people sell of TT's usually a lot cheaper than NA's?
