Save myself over $1000 and have a better ride. Prob will barely notice the difference as well in handling. No track work for me :D :zlove:

    THE COILOVER SAGA CONTINUES

THIS IS NOT A PERSONAL ATTACK ON ROB,JUST A DISCUSSION OF PRINCIPLES!!!!
Well i have had a pm from Rob about 2 weeks ago saying this g/b may not even go ahead due to the coilovers might not be in the timeframe as expected,he also has said that if they are not the g/b will not go ahead
As i am desperately needing suspension i have decided not to go ahead with this and i have decided to do my suspension now my own way as i want to go on the Great Ocean Road Cruise.
I have also been told that our refunds for the deposit are also non returnable even though it doesnt state that anywhere in the original thread
After pm rob and asking who will keep this $100 from the people who are dropping out,i am still none the wiser:confused:
Now im not going to make a big deal of this yet,but i think all the guys who have dropped out would like a return of the deposit, for now ill wait to hear what the g/b organiser has to say,REGARDS SIMON :zlove:

Hmm, my thoughts on this are, if the group buy doesn't go ahead due to an issue with the supplier etc then deposits should be returned. However, if you drop out of the group buy, wouldn't you kinda expect to lose the deposit? That's how it usually works I thought, if you drop out of something the deposit is normally non-refundable as it goes to reselling the product which has already been purchased.

Not trying to annoy anyone here, but if Rob has already accepted these items, he's going to have to try to resell them himself. Will be a pain in the ass for him which is why he asked for a deposit, to entice you to stay in the GB else lose it. Though if the GB doesn't happen for some other reason then yes, that deposit should be returned. Any word Rob?

No you didn't. Haven't been able to get onto the net in a couple of days and obviously have some PM's to check... but the Gb is 100% definately on and stock has been ordered and paid for. I never said anything of the sort.

Exactly, the purpose of the deposit is to confirm that stock I've ordered will be paid for.

well this is how im interpreted your p/m

Hi simon, not at this stage. I'm heading over next week (post move) to check out my rebuild so i'm on the case. It all hinges on the AUS supplier (fulcrum) getting them in within the quoted timeframe, UAS are only the middle man in this case so no matter how much I chase them the best they can do is chase fulcrum and the best fulcrum can do is chase Tein

But we're on it, just wanted to make sure you know that UAS are working hard on it, especially after some comments made by members in your other thread.

So who keeps the $100 if Rob sells them for the same amount that the GB states ?
I have pulled out of the GB too simply because these coilovers offer f&*k all adjustability...aprox 1" overall, to me thats not worth paying that amount of money.
I understand where Simon is coming from and so to Rob, but if Rob manages to sell them for the same gb price then i think a refund would be very reasonable.

Yeah, but what about the trouble of having to re-sell the coilovers? Why even bother asking for a deposit if your just going to pull out later? I'd say Rob keeps the money as it's him taking the risk if he can't resell them. And if he does then great, but that $100 is there to make sure if you pull out you are very sure you don't want the product.

It's up to you to ensure you want the product before you give the deposit. Although this is a little less formal than a proper business, I know most places you give a deposit it is non-refundable if you change your mind later.

You really should have researched this before committing. There was heaps of debate and information going back and forth about these before the GB started. Things such as spring rates and height drop were talked about to annoyance of many people ;)

I know your PO'd about losing the money, but at the end of the day Rob is taking the risk here. If this was UAS you'd sent the deposit too, you wouldn't expect a refund of the deposit. Some of their terms:

    # Once an order is placed it cannot be cancelled without permission of the manager.
    # We sometimes exchange but no refunds are available.
    # Goods especially procured are non refundable.
    # All returned goods must be in original package and "as sold" condition.
    # After 14 days 20% handling fee will be charged.
    # After 30 days no credit.
    # A 10% restocking fee will apply for returned goods.

This is how businesses operate. [PUTS ON FLAME SUIT]

Guys I'm not keeping any deposits, all of your (actually OUR) money has gone to UAS as a down payment on the order. Same as I've done with every other GB.

If anyone pulls out and forfeits their deposit the coilovers will be advertised at $1550 in the FS section. Obviously the deposit is to ensure that this DOESN'T happen.

EXACTLY and good to see some sense prevailing. Bottom line is everyone's deposits have been forwarded to the supplier as a deposit on the group buy order. So far it's still february so well within the reasonable period for delivery and the stock being supplied is exactly what was ordered. If anyone wants to pull out for whatever reason then it is their job to "sell" their deposit OR lose their money and I will have to sell the product for the amount owing ($1550).

this doesnt quite make sense rob
you are now saying that the coilovers we ordered which still have not arrived and still no eta,are going to be advertised at 100 less than we were going to pay
so correct me if im wrong but the people who are pulling out are paying $100 of someone elses coilovers  ,so why dont you charge them 1650 as we were going to pay and give us back the $100,rather than giving them a cheaper price $1550 as they are saving already on a g/b price:confused:
why dont u sell them for 1650 then give us back our deposit

If it doesn't make sense can I suggest you send me a PM for further discussion. This has gotten ridiculous.

HI ROB, look,i dont particularly need $100 , if you can sell mine for 1650 i am happy to deposit the $100 into the andymac appeal,at least uas dont get to keep the money  ,it will go to a good cause !!! :zlove: :zlove: :zlove: :)
