still i mean for us in WA 1650 plus 100 shipping and if we want the edfc thats another 530 thats 2180.. or the same deal (even though the coilovers arent as stiff at the front ) 1928..

as you can se there is a small saving, im sure that your supplier could come 2 the table and match these prices no worries :D

EDFC maybe, but for the coilovers you've got $1461, plus customs entry fee $30, plus $146 in GST and all of a sudden the price gap closes. Then you've got warranty etc to consider, and the different spring rates.

Also who said $100 shipping for WA? For the last group buy the shipping cost was $50 for UAS to pack and send, I'm not charging for packing so will be $50OR LESS.

Hi, did I get back to your PM? Apologies if not.

Yeah sure can, just need to make sure we will have the numbers etc for the GB to go ahead.

    Pricing and Jap/US/etc Spec

Guys, there's been heaps of discussion in this thread re: pricing and other (ex Australia) suppliers. This was all covered in the hot300zx thread that lead to heaaaps of discussion and a few of us decided that this was the way to go. I only started the new thread to make the GB more visible to anyone not following the old thread, not to restart the debate.

So far the only comparable offer is nengun's which works out to around $1630 delivered. As above postage for these is going to be $50 or less, so at most you're looking at a saving of $70 which to me is not worthwhile when you look at the issues of warranty etc.

So yeah can we please keep this a little more on-topic please? To make it clear I have nothing to gain from this GB going through, and I don't care where people buy there coilovers. I've explained my reasons for wanting to get a good deal from an Aussie supplier, I'm just making that option availble to everyone.

Sorry if i sound frustrated, but I am a little :D

So just to confirm, because I got a little confused after reading ZX2NV's reply, but these Super Street's from TIEN are 100% legal for road use?? My cousin imported a 180sx, and got stung for her suspension being adjustable, so she had to buy a stock suspension setup, and couldnt use the quality suspension that she paid for...

    Cheers, Andrew

    they are legal

Hi Andrew,i may stand corrected, but this is the law as i believe ,Simon
    1. coilovers are not illegal. Ride height though must be over a certain point (100mm?) around the entire car. This includes any lips.

Thanks Simon, I do remember something about minimum height being at least 100mm, but i wasnt sure if the "technology" behind the suspension, ie the adjustable nature was a possible issue...thanks again though. Just don't want an expensive error!

    Cheers, Andrew

You must be able to lock the suspension from adjusting, also must have that 100mm and or a certain distance from the center of the wheel to the lip of the guard(different for each vehicle). Also the suspension must have atleast 2/3rds the rebound of what the stock suspension had. Pretty sure thats the lot, and I'm not sure that these have the rebound bit, so is there someone that knows for SURE that these are road legal?

Which Fulcrum are these coming from rob? Brisbane?

If so I could pick them up from the Brisbane shop..

I want the super streets thats for sure. However still unsure on EDFC and whether to go pillowball or rubber upper mounts..

Could you find out how much Fulcrum would charge for these to be installed with and without the EDFC please rob? I'm keen to know.. or would it be a straight forward job that maybe I could do?

I've got arms off egg to go on as well for the rear camber. And Pedders just told me my front upper arm bushes are stuffed so will prob get the adjustable front upper control arms off Paul as well.. Would it be better if I just get Fulcrum to do all the work?

Your help is much appreciated. Cheers. :)

Hi mate, they're coming via UAS who are buying from fulcrum. They have access to the older stock and much bigger buying power, after looking around I'm sure this is the best way to go.

If I was you I would get the one shop to do camber arms and coilovers, that way they can get everything set up nicely and do a good alignment for you so it's a drive in/drive out kinda job.

If you're not sure about pillowball or rubber, go rubber. Reason I say that is your car is going to handle really well with the rubber mounts, and no chance that there will be extra road noise to cause regrets.

EDFC I am trying to get a better price so stay tuned.

Re: pickup I"ll check that out, can you send me a PM to remind me please?

Also install it's better if you get a quote I think but for a reference I think UAS quoted around six-hundred for the last group buy. I don't mind sending emails but they might have some specific questions regarding your car so if you check then there's no chance of mistakes being made :D

not trying 2 make things difficult but i have enquired about gst and shipping and this is nenguns reply..

    Hi Simon,

Thanks for your enquiry. The full value of the order is not written on the label due to security considerations. If you have any special packaging or labeling instructions please include them in the order comments when checking out. An invoice is provided on the website after we have received payment for your order for download in Microsoft Word format.
    Hope that helps.

    Hi Rob

Dont get me wrong I think if we can buy in Oz and keep the money and support of businesses in our own country well and good, however there has been considerable talk in both this thread and simons (hot300zx) coilover threads regarding the differences between the Jap and Aus spec coilover kits. As far as I have been able to find out is the Aus spec some with pillow ball tops whereas the import ones do not. Pillow ball tops are great but do wear the balls quite quickly compared to a rubber mount setup.

It would be great as you are quite fluent with UAS if you could contact JP or Fulcrums and find out the exact differences between the two as there has been a lot of conjecture. When I was enquiring Fulcrum were very hush hush about it due to the fact they didnt have any in stock to sell anyway.

I think everyone who has enquired my self included would like to know exactly what they are buying. So far I have the spring rates as the same which would mean the valving would be the same as it directly relates to the spring rate chosen and the only difference is pillow balls included in AUS spec kits and AUS spec kits are ADR approved and legal for road use in AUS.

Hopefully it can be cleared up once and for all.

Side note all Fulcrum dont have any in stock and apparently wont have until mid to late January there was two sets SS with rubber mounts available two weeks ago and 1 Flex kit.

    Happy new year all

    J

Yeah Jas it looks like i have some more homework to do.

From what I have been told fulcrum are the only ones who tein will sell the AUS-spec coilovers to. However if this isn't the case then obviously there's more money to be saved for everyone including myself.

But I want to be sure that we're comparing apples and apples.... It's a pity about the timing with everyone being closed etc. I don't want to call john on his personal phone but I might have to...
