    :(

Well last night, while driving towards Brisbane, the Zed decided that she would lose boost completely.

Drivers side turbo is not spooling. It's spinning but not flowing air at all.

Not blowing smoke, just making a crunching noise on wind down.

Time has come to say goodbye. Car is for sale for $13,000 in F/Sale section.

Thanks for all the support over the years and hope to catch up and keep in contact with all of you in the near future.

    Cheers

I know it was a long time ago, but didn't someone warn you about using second hand turbos? I don't mean to have a go, but is an example for anyone else considering following the same path.

Good luck with the sale! You can't say you haven't learnt a thing or 2 about cars.

    Ahhh...that f*&ked man.

Sorry to see you out, but by all means stay in the loop. At least we were able to let the red beasts loose one time before it all went down hill.

    Was warned...

Yes. Warning was given regarding the turbo... by the very mechanic in which I had put so many of my problems on.

My Ignorance and determination to have something go right stood in the way of a proper judgement and I bluntly ignored the warnings, instead searching for someone to tell me what I wanted to hear and not the other way around.

Was good to let the red beast loose a couple of times more before she has finally come to this resting point. :(

Huge thanks to all the members who helped and offered their services to help me throughout ownership of this "Evil's Finest" zed.

Special thanks to K-zed for putting up with my complete and utter B/shit at times.

It was just a matter of time before it all came crashing down to a horrible end.

Many lessons were learnt and it wasn't until this final stint that those lessons became obvious.

If your given advice don't go looking for the answer that suits you best, simply accept the advice and recognise the problem exists instead of finding some way to hide it.

I will more than likely still be viewing the forums from time to time, but nowhere near what I use to.

    *sigh* :(

Thanks everyone for letting me be me and having fun along the way... It's been great.

At least the turbo died doing what she does best.... but thats a story for PM and not a public recognition. :p

    Cheers,

    Fate

What are your plans car-wise? Buy another Z, some other...

Jap import, Aussie V8, or just go down the stock sedan route?

    Whichever way, good luck mate.

    Sorry to hear Sean...

I know the amount of money you've spent on your Z, only to have things go wrong. Sad to hear the second-hand turbo(s) has died already :(

All the best with the sale, and the break from modified car scene, if that is the path you decide to take.

    Regards,
    Jono

Sorry to hear of your fate, Sean. Excuse the pun.

You have finally recognised that both Gavin Wood and I gave you sound advice so it's time to bury the hatchet. Good luck with whatever you decide on next. Cya pal. :zlove:

says the z31 owner... way to comment on a car you know absolutely nuthing about...

fate has spent endless amounts on his zed and has had heaps of work done on it, if its just one turbo at fault... that can be fixed from anywhere between 200-1000$... then you have one fine machine.

best of luck sean and its a real shame that its come to this... what ya movin on to next? good luck with the sale hey. hey man change is nessicary and maybe its for the best, good luck with the future.

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

    Nooo, not Rubber Ducky!

I think I nearly Sh1t myself when I read this post Fate!

Very sad to hear the demise of your red rocket mate. You've endured some tough times with it mate. It will be very quiet at SEQ meets without you!

I seriously DON'T recommend selling in this condition though mate, you will not get much for it (unfortunately). - You've spend lots on the rest of the car apart from the engine that you won't get back if you decide to sell. Mainly with it unpainted atm. If it was me, I'd rip the engine out and put some stock components back in that are in decent condition, then finish the body paint. Then you can at least sell it as a "finished" project and get a decent price. - or maybe you'd decide to keep it when it's running properly and looking hot. ;)

Just think about the options mate. :zlove:

With one in my driveway I'm giving a service tomorrow for a mate, riiiiiight... You've been listening to ZX2NV too much. I just said that's too rich for a car that's broken, which it is. Best of luck too him, I hope someone does pay that amount for it!

Exactly, body kits and cosmetic stuff dont add to the value of a car sadly if anything it hurts value.
