Mate I have a question, I'm unsure if your familiar with the wings west rear bar (it's very low hanging point) but would your undertray still work for this ?
Also did you end up contacting or sending one to UAS ?
    I may be a gineaupig ?

Held off sending to UAS until I have the second generation prototyped & confirmed correct.

Would have been done tomorrow but ANZAC day will delay until Monday more than likely.

I'm thinking I'll send one over in raw ally so it can be test fitted etc & no stress about scratching it, still have to discuss with JP to confirm what he is happy to do.

Not that expensive to fly over for a weekend so that might be an option for test fitting & discussing design or custom options etc :)

I think he may have mentioned me as a gineaupig to you in communique at some point.
But definitely keen to fix my wind catch issue,
Even if it took another week/2 that's fine as I won't be up there till may anyway unless I had to sort out something sooner if you were coming over or parts were etc

Sorry for the huge delay guys, had to make a couple of corrections in the prototype and now finally have a drawing that looks to be bang on and correct.

I'm about to place the order to get a large batch of these made.

Can I have a show of hands from those who are interested?
IF you are keen and want in plain ally or anodised in a colour other than satin black now would be the time to let me know, powder coating is also an option - just let me know the colour :)

will these now be available as a direct bolt on for the N/A?? If so I would be keen on a black one!

I can make some brackets that would require two holes to be drilled in the subframe, if people are happy to do that then I can make them for the NA without any awkward fitting issues (who hasn't got a cordless drill these days? LOL!)

What are the legalities with regard to the End Plates. ;)
Or are these like all After Market Parts - put them on at your own risk.;)
These may not pass inspection from the local police and could end up costing people, with large Fines as they would become points where a person run over or involved in an accident would be cut to ribbons.
One of the reasons why so many cars these days don't have Bonnet Emblems etc and cars now having under body styling, not just for aerodynamics.

It's over to the individual to determine the legal ramifications of fitting any after market parts to their cars, In New Zealand at least this is a 100% legal part.

I can't speak on behalf of a potentially overly fussy police officer in Aus however I would suggest if a person is going to end up under the back of a Z32 they will have bigger things to worry about than this product.

It's not the overly fussy police officer

over on this side of the ditch that's the problem. :D
Over here if you are pulled over for a Random Breath Test they will still look your car over to see if anything looks out of place or has been added.
So much so that on occasions they have the RMS (RTA) Inspectors with them.
Hell...we even had one member pulled over in an N/A and was asked by the officer to open up his bonnet to prove he never had Turbo's. I suspect that was just an excuse to try to find something else when the bonnet was lifted, as he didn't get him for DUI. (driving under the influence)
I even had one over the top newbie ask me to climb out of the car to check that my numberplate was not correctly positioned. As it turned out, a bird had hit the mesh grill the plate was mounted on and folded the mesh back, and this prick wanted to book me for it. That was until his senior officer pointed out to this twat, that the fresh bird kill was still mangled behind the grill, but that's another story.
The point I was trying to make is not all parts made O/S are compliant with our road rules, so please ensure when you advertised items, a small sentence should be included that eludes to the fact that the item may not be legal in some countries. After all, who wants to buy something and be fined for having it fitted to their car, unaware that it was not compliant to the local road rules.
This is in no way aimed at you or your product, which I'm sure is quite good. It's just a fact of the road rules we have to abide by. After all, owning a Zed can be an expensive habit.:rofl:

The only rule/law that even comes close to touching this part is this one right here:

    "Protrusions
    (1) An object fitted to a vehicle must be designed, built and fitted
to the vehicle in a way that minimises the likelihood of injury
to a person making contact with the vehicle."

    Section five part 30 ADRs

So based on that this part indeed minimises the likelihood of injury to a person making contact with the vehicle due to the fact they would need to either

A: Be run over by the rest of the vehicle first to get to this part and therefore be squished mangled and seriously dead based on the fact they simply wont fit under the car.

B: Be run over by the vehicle when it was reversing in which case this panel will help make noise to alert the driver of the incident prior to the person meeting their demise by trying to fit under the diff & the rest of the car if it reverses.

Construction is (as mentioned) 1.6mm aluminium and constructed in such as way that if it was to make contact with a person it would simply bend or fold out of the way, the mounts are actually designed in such a way that any serious upwards, forwards motion would cause the panel to lift up out of the way reducing any injury to horizontal suicidal pedestrians attempting to squeeze under the rear of your Z.

So in this case I don't see laws being of any concern with this particular product however if someone is able to say otherwise and can produce the relevant rule/law then speak up so others are forewarned.
Like I said though 100% OK here in NZ and a lot of our laws are pretty much the same as yours in Aus :)

Did anything ever eventuate with this?

    Yes :)

After a very slow and painful process converting my hand made prototypes into digital plans and ensuring what the machines spit out is what I designed we finally have a fully reproducible unit.

At this stage I have had another small batch made & have sent them across to the states for evaluation & possibly sale or at least for marketing etc.

I can now easily have more produced at any stage and zap them around the place globally no problem at all :)

I need to update the price to take in to account the changes that have been made but the new price wont be a deal breaker, it's cheap compared to other "enhancements" on the market.
