Urgent help please struggling with moving power steering pump at the moment.

In (1) where does the hole in the power steering pulley need to be to see this bolt ? , looking from front of car i.e. 3 o'clock ??? what position ?

Also in (4) where are these 2 bolts ?

Here is a pic if you can draw arrows or something to help me it would be appreciated.

    Between one and two o'clock

I've never loosened the bracket in order to remove the belt... You need to loosen the pivot (step 1), loosen the locking nut on the adjuster, and then back the adjuster out. You will probably still need to walk the belt off.

    Thanks !

    Is it definitely 14mm ?

I think so but I can't remember exactly -12/13/14; one of those

Its 14mm, its spinning with mild tension like the back nut is spinning.

Loosening those 2 x 12mm bracket bolts seemed to help.

Problem is now that it kind of spring loaded via the hoses and so on, needs quiet a bit of strength to pull it in and the belt as you say still may need to be walked off, what a pain in the arse and extra pair of hands would help.

Any way having a break before I get shitty with it.

It can be very hard to move pump after all bolts loosened. I spray RP7 between the plates where the long bolt goes through. Also use a small jemmy bar to move it. Never had an easy one to move :D. Last time I filed a very small piece off the pump plate and was definitely easier to get back in and also put a sharper tip on the long bolt which helped heaps with slipping it in quickly as have had a hard time getting that bolt in before. Once you tighten the long bolt it sandwiches it tight. Also a good trick I always do now is just undo the pump pulley nut and take belt off with pump pulley then you don't really need to slide pump loose much :D so much easier.

    Thanks a f'in lot. :p

Way too late, it was easier to take the fan and radiator out, I wanted to flush the radiator, clean up hose connections and replace bottom rubber mounts any way.

You are right just take the fan off and undo the PS pulley, much easier.

When I was under there I saw the alternator pivot bolt almost falling out, second time but luckily I had found one of those special keeper nuts with the leg on it so you can tighten it up good.
